Redbanks Methodist Church,
Redbanks, South Carolina. Rev.
Hendricks performed the 4 o’
clock ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clint Goins of
Brenner Park, California.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of lace over peau
de soie, which was designed
with a high neckline and empire
wasit. Her veil of illusion was
attached to a forward cap of
matching lace. Her bouquet was
made of white carnations.

The groom is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph H. Johnson of
116 Bailey Circle. A graduate of
Clinton High School, he attended
Clemson University before en
tering service.
The bride will make her home
with her parents, while Mr.
Johnson completes his tour of
duty. He is currently stationed
in San Diego, California.
Among those attending the

grooms sister, Becky and Mike
Johnson.

turned from a visit with Mr.

Mr. Carl Anthony Windsor were
united in marriage Sunday, July
26, at one p.m. at Holly Grove
Baptist Church by the Reverend
Tommy Lowe.
Miss Judy Dianne Strickland
was maid of honor. The groom
chose his brother-in-law, Ron
nie C. Hill, as best man. Keith
Barrett and Terry Baughn serv
ed as ushers. Mrs. Carol Linda
Thompson, organist, provided
music.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wess Nelson
of Laurens. The groom is the
son of Mrs. Margaret Ruth
Windsor and the late Carl Stan
ley Windsor of Clinton.
Mrs. Windsor is a graduate
of Laurens High School. Mr.
Windsor, a Clinton High School
graduate, is presently a student
at Greenville Aviation.
The couple will live at Pel
ham East Apartments in Gre
enville.

Dr. Marshall Brown, Co
ordinator of the S. C. Commis
sion on Higher Education Facil
ities, was in Durham, New
Hampshire several days last
week attending a conference of
Washington and state officials
about Federal aid to higher ed
ucation this coming school year.
He was accompanied by Mrs.
Brown and his sister, Mrs. T.
W. Caskey.
Mrs. Mary Norman has re
turned from a visit with her
sister, Mrs. J. B. Hatcher and
brother, Leon Norman in Gaf
fney where she has been con
valescing from an illness. She
also spent some time in
Columbia with her daughter,
Mrs. Harvey Huffstetler and
family.
Miss Agnes Davis has re
turned from a recent visit with
her niece, Mrs. George Cro-
martie and Capt. Cromartie at
Ft. Fisher, Va. While there
they also visited in Williams
burg and the Eastern shore.
Lt and Mrs. Holbrook Ray-
nal of Ft Benning and Colum
bus, Ga., were here for the
week-end with the latter’s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M.
Turner.
Mrs. Fleming Harris and
children of Sullivans Island are
visiting her mother, Mrs. Law
rence Davis. Also joining them
over the week-end were Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Fort and Children of
Atlanta.
DEBUTANTE BRUNCH
Mrs. Benjamin F. Ivey and
Mrs. Robert Grube had a brunch
for the debutantes Saturday at
Mrs. Ivey’s home on Maple St.
A short while before the party
the girls were called to “come as
you are* . Susan Undari, on her
way for a bath arrived of course
in a towel. Frankie Cauley, get-
ing her late morning beauty
sleep, came in her pajamas.
Most all of the girls we re in
various “un-party-like* out
fits and were delighted not to
have to make decisions about
what to wear.
The guests enjoyed a fruit
juice appetizer before the
brunch which was served buffet
style. The tables in the family
room were covered with bright
green and white checked cloths
centered with zinnia filled mugs.
Personalized mugs marked
the places and doubled as favors.

and Miss Cindy Ivey assisted
their mothers in serving.

marigolds. The decorated sand
wiches, bon-bons and napkins
carried out the pink and yellow
color scheme.
At one end of the table a
half watermelon was filled with
melon balls.
Zinnias and marigolds car

The debs’ favors were
most unusual - small flower
pots “blooming* with vari---
colored initial napkins to be
embroidered later.

for the funeral of Mrs. Car-

of mixed pastel blossoms, and
pink roses were lovely in the
livingroom.

celebrating their golden wed
ding anniversary at the home
of their son, Fred 0. Burnett,
Jr. and family. Other hosts for
the occasion were the couple’s

anna and Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Burnett of Columbia.
The living room dining room
and den were beautifully de
corated with various arrange
ments of gold and white glad
iolus, mum, daisies, marigolds
and roses. The dining room
table was covered with a gold
linen table cloth overlaid with
white lace. The three tiered
anniversary cake decorated in

On Wednesday afternoon,
August 5, a seated tea was
given in honor of Miss Ida
Edenfield, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. D. Edenfield, by Mrs.
Donald L. Crain, of Rock Hill,
Mrs. Gary Holcombe and Mrs.
Wilmont Shealy, Jr., at the
Holcomb home on Nottingham
Road.
Upon arrival the debutants
were presented with a red rose
corsage. After the debs, their
mothers, and other guests were
greeted, they were seated in
the living room, den and breeze-
way where arrangements of
roses were predominate.
The tea table was overlaid
with a beautiful ecru cutwork
cloth and centered with a silver
eperpe of pink roses, shading
to deep rei Assisting in the

The Burnetts were married
August 7, 1920 in Clinton by
the Rev. Baldwin. Mrs. Bur
nett is the former Apes Mc-
Minn, daughter of the late Eva
E. and Johnny J. McMinn. Mr.
Burnett is the son of the late
Ida W. and William Burnett.
Mrs. Burnett has been employ
ed at Belks Department Store
for the past 12 years. Mr. Bur
nett was employed with Maxwell
Brothers Furniture Company
for 33 years before his re
tirement in 1965.
