These are all important, and all in tended for man’s good. We plead with you to be lieve the facts, and obey the commands and then all the promises will be yours. There is no such thing in the Bible as a non- command. If God said it, it is impor- dMPtj^ and if God commanded it, it is essential to trie ones to whom it was griven: and to whatever end or purpose it was given. Yes, there are com mands in the Bible that we cannot obey and please God, because they were not given to us: such as the command, “Make thee an ark of gopher wood.” Gen. 6:14; But this was essential to Noah and those of his day, so much so, that not one was saved on the obtside of the ark. 1 Pet- 3:20; This was true because God placed salvation from the flood in the ark. Then when Lot and his family were leaving Sodom, God commanded, “Look not behind thee. His wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” Gen. 19:17 and 26; My! How essential this command proved to be. As a warning, Christ said, “Remember Lot’s Wife.” Luke 17:32: In the gospel of Christ, which is “God’s power unto salvation.” Rom. 1:16; No command can be plainer than the one to study. 2 TMm. 2:15; “Study to shew thyself approved unto God ...” In Jon. 5:36; Christ said, “Search the scriptures.” There ia a very popular idea among religious people today that “You can just know what is right." Nothing could be further from the truth, nor more foreign to the word of God. “0 Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Jer. 10:23; It is through teaching and learning that man is drawn to Christ. “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prohpets, and they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath not learned of the Father, cometh unto me.” Jon. 6:44-46; In giving the Great Commission, Christ said, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Matt- 28:19; Every command to teach, is also, a command to study, to learn, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God.” 2. Tim. 2:15; Study: is defined as, searching dili gently in order to understand thoroughly. What ever you are ariced to believe, or accept in religion, try it by the word of God. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, hut try the spirits wheth er they are of God: because many false prohpets are gone out into the world.” 1 Jon. 4:1; Bevery Blommer of Detroit, Mich., enjoyed a week here re cently with Mrs. Minnie Bur nett.
