ington Baptist Church. Burial
was in the church cemetery.

Funeral Home with burial in
Woodlawn Memorial Park.

LIBERTY - John Henry Med
lock, 86, died Monday in Eas
ley. He was the father of Mrs.
Ralph Alexander of Clinton.
Other survivors include two
sons, three half-brothers, and
four half-sisters.
Funeral arrangements were
handled by Gantt Funeral Home,
Liberty.
M. A. Sumerel
FORT THOMAS, KY. - Mil-
ton A. Sumerel Jr., 62, died
Monday in Cincinnati, Ohio. A
native of Laurens, he was a
brother of Hyland Sumerel and
Mrs. Helen Anderson ofClinton.
Other survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Virginia Berry Sum
erel; three sons, the Rev. Mil-
ton A. Sumerel III of West Lib
erty, Ohio and Robert Berry
and Thomas Sumerel of Ft.
Thomas; another sister, Mrs.
Dell Marks of Laurens; and
five grandchildren.
He was a son of the late
Milton A. Sumerel Sr. and Lei
la Bailey Sumerel. He was own
er and operator of an auto tire
store in Newport, Ky., and was
a member of Newport Baptist
Church.

Buford Spelts
JOANNA - Buford “Leroy”
Spelts, 38, of 131 Tillman Cir
cle, died Monday.
A former resident ofBuffalo,
he moved to Joanna in 1957. He
was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Spelts of Buffalo, and employed
by Greenwood Mills at the A-
dams Plant in Ninety Six.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Ruby Streetman Spelts; two
sons, Lee and Jeffrey Spelts
of the home; a daughter, Ter
esa Spelts of the home; four
sisters, Mrs. Savannah Sum
ner of Newberry, Mrs. Elsie
Barnes of Buffalo, Mrs. Ruby
Estes of Chester, and Mrs.
Mary Puckett of Chesnee; and
an adopted brother, Hoer Lee
West of Union.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at 3 p.m at the As
sembly of God Church.Burial
was in Rosemont Cemetery.
W. P. White
JOANNA - William Preston
White Sr., 65, of 705 West Mil-
ton Road, died Saturday, June
27 in Clinton.
He was a native of Cross Hill
but had lived in Joanna since
1926. He was a son of Mrs.
Ethel White of Laurens and
the late Tom White. He was a
retired employee of Joanna
Mills.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Hattie Simpson White; two
daughters, Mrs. Louise Weaver
of Marietta, Ga., and Miss Mar
garet White of the home; a son,
William P. White Jr. of the U.
S. Navy in Key West, Fla.;
three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Deane
of Dallas, N. C., Mrs. Wade
Orr of Laurens and Mrs. Mae
lusti of Greenwood; and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at
Gray Funeral Home cm Monday,
June 28. Burial was in Pine-
lawn Memory Gardens.
Martin Traynham
PELZER - Martin Traynam,
82, of Pelzer died Sunday, June
28. He was a native of Lau
rens County, a retiredemployee
of the Kendall Co., and a mem
ber of the Washington Baptist
Church.
He was the father of James
A. Traynam of Clinton. Other
survivors include his wife, four
daughters, three sisters, three
brothers, nine grandchildren,

LAURENS - Mrs. OthelL
Garrett Blakely, 73, of Laurens
died on Thursday, June 25. She
was the mother of Mrs. Lee R.
Smith of Clinton.
Other surviviors include two
sons, three sisters, five grand
children, and six great-grand
children.
Funeral services were held
at Kennedy Funeral Home Fri
day, June 26. Burial was in
the Covenant Presbyterian
Church Cemetery.
G. R. Turner
G. Robert Turner, Sr., 67,
of 307 Garden St., died Wed
nesday, June 24.
He was a native of Laurens
County and a son of the late
Robert Cal and Beulah Duna
way Turner. He was a retired
carpenter and was a Mason, a
member of Campbell Lodge 44.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Louise Smith Turner: two sons,
George R. Turner of Greenville
and James H (Jimmy) Turner
of Joanna; a sister, Mrs. Guy
Smith of Clinton; two brothers,
Colie Turner of Clinton and
Lindsey Turner of Joanna; and
six grandchildren
Funeral services were held at
Gray Funeral Home Friday,
June 26. Burial wasinPinelawn
Memory Garden.
S. H. Fuller
GREENVILLE - Solomon
Henry Fuller Jr., 74, of 14 D.
St., Poe Mill community, died
Thursday, June 25. He was the
father of Mrs. W. C. Bond of
Clinton.
Other survivors include his
wife, four sons, a sister, a
brother, 13 grandchildren and
11 great-grand-children.
T. Rex Young
Thomas Rex Young, 76, of 62
3rd St Rockledge, Fla., died in
an Orlando Hospital June 18.
He was a member of Campbell
Lodge #44 Clinton, a retired
employee of Whitten Village
and lived in Clinton until 11
years ago. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church,
Cocoa, Fla.
He was the son of the late
Calvin and Corrie Dillard
Young. He is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Nellie D. Young and
a daughter Mildred Young of
Rockledge; two brothers, A.
Clyde Young of Clinton and
Sam M.. Young of Reddington
Beach, Fla.
Funeral services were held
Monday, June 22, at the Wylie-
Baxley Funeral Home chapel
with Rev. James L Dunnan of

Interment was in Brevard
Memorial Park Garden of Me
mories, Cocoa.
