C., July 2. 1970 Jan King Has Busy First Year At Brenau Mr. and Mrs. William King, Jr. are very proud of their daughter Jan, who is a rising sophomore at Brenau College in Gainesville, Ga., and they have every right to be. During her freshman year she was invited to join Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and served the organization as pledge class president. She was given theO- micron award which is the high est honor given to a freshman in the sorority. also served as freshman class president and while in this position she initiated anew program at Brenau entitled “Brenau Life.” This is similar to “Youth for Christ,” which is familiar to the young people in Clinton. Jan is very active in religious life at Brenau and was elected to the YWCA cabinet and will serve as president oftheJunior YWCA next term. will be a busy girl next as she will be secretary She year of the National EducationAsso ciation, will serve on the Fine Arts Committee and report for the campus newspaper, “Alche mist. ” Besides these positions, she will again lead her class as president. It is no wonder that this ver satile young lady received the Outstanding Freshman Award from the Senior Honor Society’ And don't think this gal has all brains and no beauty: She was a freshman May Day at tended too. On top of all this, believe it or not, Jan King maintained a 3.25 academic average. S.C. Presbytery Meets July 13 The Presbytery of South Carolina will meet in regular Summer Session 9 AM Tuesday, July 13, at Camp Fellowship on Lake Greenwood. The retiring Moderator, G. E. Campbell of Clinton, has invit ed Candidate Charles B. Evans, m, to preach the retiring Mod erator’s sermon. The Rev. E. L. Worstall, Jr., pastor of the Friendship Presbyterian Church near Laurens, is the Moderator in nomination. The Sacrament of the Lord’sSupper will be observed with Dr. R. C. Bankhead, the host-pastor, in charge. Ordination sermons will be preached by Candidates Jerrold C. Burnside called to become pastor of the Rock Bridge Church. James B. Bank- head called to become pastor of the Little River-Dominick and Joanna, First Churches, and C. B. Evans, III, called to become pastor of the Upper Long Cane Church. These candidates will be ex amined by Presbytery and Com missions will be appointed to ordain and install them. Ar rangements for the ordination and installation of Candidate John W. Stodghill^as pastor of the Lebanon Church will also be completed.
