Mr. Bixler is attending a meet
ing of the Presbyterian Mission
Board. From there they will go
to New England for several days
of sight-seeing.

Mrs. John H. Southall has
returned from Madison and Live
Oak, Fla., where she was called
due to the illness and death of a
cousin, Mrs. Edith Wolfe.
Mrs. J.L Adair of Greenville
is spending this week with Mrs.
Emmie McMahan while the lat
ter’s daughter, Mrs. Aim on
Spencer is on vacation with the
Blalocks at their home on Paw
ley’s Island.
IN ITALY
Mrs. Carl Y. Culbertson and
daughters, Linda and Phillis
flew from Charlotte, N.C. to
New York Thursday where they
boarded a Jet for Cherignola,
Italy for a visit with her pa
rents and other relatives. This
is Mrs. Culbertson’s first visit
home in twenty-four years.
They will be gone six weeks and
plan to visit in Milan, Rome,
Venice and other cities in Italy
while away.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lehn and
children, Charlotte and Collie,
are spending two weeks in Mil
waukee, Wis. with the former’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam
Lehn.
Mrs. C. W. Anderson is
spending the summer at the
Anderson home in Garden City.
Mr. Anderson Joins the family
on weekends. Spending two
weeks with the Andersons’ are
their son-in-law and daughter,
Dr. and Mrs. Dan Orr and child
ren, Danny, Steve, Rosemary
and Norman.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Shealy and
Phyllis and Mr. & Mrs. Louie
Webb, Ann and Jimmy attended
the graduation of A1 Webb on
Sunday at the University of South
Carolina on the Union Regional
Campus. The son of Mr. 4 Mrs.
Louie Webb, he received an A.
B. degree in Business Adminis
tration.

FAREWELL TO REEDS
When Mr. & Mrs. Calvin
Reed and children Wendy, Da
vid and Christopher, leave Ciin-
ton this weekend for Boston,
Mass., they’ll leave behind
many friends who’ll surely
them.
Several parties have been
given the Reeds and their
friends opportunities to get-
together for some good times
before they move.
The first of the gatherings
was hosted by Calvin’s asso
ciates at Torrington. LastWed-
nesday an elegant dinner was
held at the Wilson home. Char
lotte andfcalvinwere presented
with a silver wine cooler and
framed picture of the Tor
rington plant.
Thursday night Mr. & Mrs.
George Cornelson and Mr. 4
Mrs. Donny Wilder had a pic
nic supper for the Reeds at the
Cornelson’s cabin in Merrie
Oaks.
Mr. 4 Mrs. Tom Stallworth
were hosts for a “pick-up”
supper at their home on Wal
nut St. Tuesday night. Many of
the Reed’s friends were there
to enjoy the lovely gathering.
Capping off the splendid va-;
riety of parties last night was a
delicious beef kabab supper at
Dr. and Mrs. Randy Huff’s home
on Maple St. A few neighbors
joined the Reeds and Huffs for
a most delightful and informal
evening.

mons were guests last week of
Miss Susan Hobart at Myrtle
Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Foster
were dinner guests of their
daughter and family, Mr. and
Mrs. William Minnick in Aiken
on Sunday.
Miss Andrea Hardin of Cow-
pens and Mr. Edgar N. Foster of
Clinton were united in marriage
on Tuesday at the Clifton Church
of God.
Rev. J.L. Wiggins officiated
at the ceremony.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Pat Hardin, sister-in-law of the
bride. Bridesmaids were Mis
ses Mary Sue Burrell and
Louise Blakenship. Flower
girl was Miss Mary Jane Har
din, sister of the bride.

Richard White spent Sunday
with his sister, Mrs. Jimmy

White had dinner in Laurens
with Mrs. Mary Simpson and
Mrs. Kate Taylor.
Miss Julia McKee of Atlanta
and RMS John Paul McKee of
Norfolk have been visiting their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Mc
Kee. Frank McKee who recently
graduated from Erskine College
is spending the summer with his
parents.
TO OKINAWA
Lt. Michael 0. Johnson is
spending several days leave
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Olin Johnson prior to leaving
Friday for an assignment on
Okinawa. He recently complet
ed training at Fort Benjamin
Harrison, in Indianapolis, In
diana.
Mrs. Nelle Bowman, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Loftisand
supervisor of obstitrics at
Warner Robins Air Base Hospi
tal, returned Thursday from
Montgomery, Ala. where she at
tended a two weeks management
course.

Sanders were in Myrtle Beach
last weekend to attend the Shrine
Convention.

ors of Mr. and Mrs. Richard

Mrs. J. David Copeland has
returned to her home after
spending two weeks in Johnston
with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph
Yonce. She had as her guests
for the weekend, Mrs. Yonce
and granddaughter, Pennye.
While here they attended the
Copeland-Stewart wedding on
Friday night and the Byars-
Jacks wedding on Sunday after
noon.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snow,
Jr. had as their Monday even
ing guests, her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. James Wilson of Lau
rens and her brother, Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Broome of Warsaw,
Missouri. Another guest was
Miss Ashley Snow of Laurens
during the weekend.

stalk of daffodils is not criti
cal. The important thing is to
be sure the leaves are allowed

Gregoire took their marriage
vows Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the
home of her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. J.J. McGinnis at 117
Milling St., Clinton.
The Rev. Fred Cason offi
ciated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. George McGinnis of Ches
ter and Mrs. Irma Black of Las
Vegas, Nev. She is a 1970 gra
duate of Chester High School.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. V.L. Collins of Las
Vegas, Nev. He is presently
serving in the Marines and re
cently returned from 21 months
in Vietnam.
The bride was dressed in a
white lace street length gown.
She carried a Bride’s Bible
whichwasagiftfrom her grand
parents on which was placed
white carnations. She was gi
ven in marriage by her father.
Miss Juanita McGinnis, the
bride’s aunt, was maid of honor
and Mr. J. J. McGinnis, the
bride’s grandfather was the best
man.
Reception was held also at the
home of Mr. J.J. McGinnis.
After a honeymoon at Cali
fornia, they will reside at
Twenty-nine Palms, California.
