CLYDE TRAMMELL, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spa rine of Ammandaly, Va. left Monday to return to their home after spending the past week with her father, S.J. Terry and Larry left Sunday for Army Reserve Camp at Camp Stewart Ga. for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Williams were in Charlotte, N.C. on Mon day, going for the graduation of her granddaughter, Miss Cons tance Drake from S. Mecklen burg High School. Miss Kay Berry of Fork Shoals spent last week with her grandmother, Mrs. FredBodie, who accompanied her home Sa turday and remained for a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Jimmy Berry, Mr. Berry and family. spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs, George Motes in Clinton. Mrs. Inez Smith and Rev. Martin Wilbanks visited their sister, Mrs. Mamie Sue Bag- well in Chester, Saturday. Miss Jackie Hughey is spend ing the month of June in Jack sonville, Fla. with her sister, Mrs. Tommy Franklin and Mr. Franklin. Bob and Melody Bailey of Anderson spent the past week with their grandmother, Mrs. Jim Bailey and attended the Lydia Presbyterian Bible School. They also visited their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon while here. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Neal and Jimmy were Sunday dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. Annie Sherbert in Enoree. Mrs. Annie Keasley and Mrs. Eula Scott of Fountain Inn and Mrs. Ellen Barbery of Mauldin visited Sunday with their nieces, Mrs. H.W. Fallaw and Mr. Fal- law and Miss Bernice Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gaskins attended the funeral services of her cousin, Mr. Carlisle Crow der in N inety Six on Tuesday of last week. Mr. Crowder was kil led in an automobile accident. On Sunday the Gaskins and son, Bill and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gilstrap had dinner in Tryon, N.C. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Wyatt and Mrs. James Campbell vi sited the latters sister, Mrs. Mattie Mae Williamson in Hic kory Tavern Sunday joining a- nother sister, Mrs. Ethel Moore of Greenwood and their brother, Andrew Perry of Winnsboro who were also at Mrs. Williamson’s. The three were together for the first time in around six years. AME Russell Trammell, U. S. Navy, Mrs. Trammell and daughter, Angela, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell en- route from San Diego, Califor nia to Memphis, Tenn., where he will be attending school for three months at the Naval Air Station. Also spending the week end with his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Trammell and children of Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and child ren of Anderson spent Sunday with her parents. The family were together for the first time in nearly two years. Kenneth Moore attended Boys State in Columbia last week. Congratulations Kenneth for being chosen to go to Boys State. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Johnson and Miss Mia Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. William Bowling visited the Camp Fire Girls at Camp Greenville at Cedar Mountain, N.C. Sunday enjoying dinner with them, later bringing their daughters, Mia Johnson, Dianne Harvey, Nancy Bowling and Mark! Darby home with them after their week’s camping there. ATTENDING CAMP Misses Mary Walker, Becky Waters, Cathy Fuller andSusan Bryan are attending camp at Beach Springs this week. Mrs. Roscoe Bryan and son, Juluan Bryan accompanied the girls there on Monday morning. This is the Pentecostal Holiness Churches Camp. BIBLE SCHOOL COMMENCEMENT The Lydia Baptist Church Vacation Bible School which is being held this week will have their commencement on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. All parents and friends of those attending are invited to attend. WITH THE SICK Jamie Meeks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Meeks is re cuperating at his home after being in Bailey Memorial Hos pital with head injuries received in a fall at his home. Alex and Genie Ayer, child ren of Rev. and Mrs. Sydney Ayer are home after being hos pital patients with injuries re ceived in an automobile accident. Mrs. Lillie Belle Miller is suffering a broken arm received in a fall at her home. Mrs. Hudson Davis is a sur gical patient at Bailey Memo rial Hospital. Mrs. Harold Hairston is a pa tient in Roper Hospital in Char leston. Mrs. Billy McGee underwent surgery at Self Memorial Hos pital Saturday. PRAYER GROUP TUESDAY The Mission Prayer Group of the Lydia Baptist Church WMS will meet at the church Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Mrs. C.R. Kuykendall as hostess. All members are urged to attend. FISH FRY ENJOYED On Sunday, over fifty people gathered at the lakeside home of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Hughey on Lake Greenwood for a fish fry, following church services at the Lydia Baptist Church. This was in place of the men’s Prayer Breakfast always held on the first Sunday. The group included the men of the church, their wives and the two adult ladies classes. PICNIC FOR INTERMEDIATES Around forty-five from the Intermediate Department of the Lydia Baptist Sunday School en joyed a picnic at the Baptist Assembly on Lake Greenwood last Friday evening. The picnic was a climax to a contest held during the month of May. Frank Gaskins’ boys class won the contest so were guests of the other classes. An automobile team from Piedmont Tec, they won the state title recently in a contest held at West Columbia Area Trade School. Sara Jackson was elected secretary - treasurer of the sophomore class and Jean Mag- um was elected to serve as the Judicial Council Representa tive. Sara is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon T. Jackson of Route 1, Clinton. Jean is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Magum of Chesnut Street in Clinton. Jones Named To Dean's List Robert William Jones, junior student at Newberry College is among the 77 named to the Dean's List for the spring se mester.
