B&PW Installs New Officers On April 14 the 1970-71 officers of the Clinton Business and Pro fessional Women’s Club were in stalled by the chairman of Dis trict 4, Mrs. Lewis Lipscomb of Newberry. Mrs. Lipscomb used an impressive service, pre senting the person being installed a flower in the color represent ing the office. The officers are as follows: president, Mrs. W. J. Crews; first vice president, Mrs. Grace Connor; second vice president, Mrs. Perry Moore; recording secretary, Mrs. Roy Jenkins; corresponding secre tary, Mrs. Robert Johnson and treasurer, Mrs. P. M. Pitts. Mrs. M. C. Poole presided dur ing the meeting and presented a president’s pin to Mrs. Crews, who in turn presented Mrs. Poole the president’s guard given the outgoing president. Guests for the meeting were Mrs. Leaman Jones, Mrs. Nene Workman, and Mrs. Dorothy Mis- kelly of Newberry. C., April 23, 1970 Miss Cox Honored Mrs. Hart Coker of Clemson entertained bride-elect Kayran Cox at a luncheon at her home at noon Saturday. The living room and dining room had lovely arrangements of spring flowers in pink and white. Tomato juice was served in the living room, then the guests were invited into the dining room for a lovely buffet luncheon. The menu consisted of asparagus cas serole, stewed apples and car rots, brown rice with mush rooms, ham, tea, and lemon short cake for dessert. Kayran’s corsage was a laven der chrysanthum and she was presented a China plate in her chosen pattern by Mrs. Coker. Mrs. George Williams HI and Mrs. Haskal Brady of Columbia gave Miss Kayran Cox, bride- elect of June 6th a kitchen shower at the home of the latter, Fri day night. The bride-elect's chair was marked with a corsage of kit chen essentials and Mrs. Wil liams pinned a corsage of car nations on Kayran. Several games were played, af ter which, refreshments were served in the dining room that was decorated with white candles and an arrangements of pink snapdragons. The hostesses served various sandwiches, cheese straws, mints, cake squares and lime punch. Kayran received many beau tiful and useful gifts. Sunbonnet Club Plans Trip The Sun Bonnet GardenClub will meet on Monday, April 27th, at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church, forming into groups to drive to Clemson. As the special guests of Bill Ballard, they will tour the greenhouses and gardens. After lunch at Clemson House, the members wiU drive to the Keo- wee-Toxaway, Duke Power Com pany project. Her fuU length veil of illu sion was attached to a satin cap outlined with seed pearls. She carried a bride’s Bible topped with a white orchid. The matron of honor was Mrs. Robert BaUew of Clinton. She wore a dress of pink bonded crepe designed with a rounded neckline. The Empire waistline was outlined with lace. Her bou quet was of pink carnations. Junior bridesmaid, Lisa Brookshire wore a dress of pink crepe of the same design as the matron of honor, as did the flower girl, Amanda Ballew. The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Camp- beU of 407 Shands Street, is also a graduate ofClintonHighSchool. Best man was William CampbeU, the groom’s father. Ushers were Terry Campbell of Clinton, PhiUip King, of Opaka, Florida and Matthew King, of Clinton. Music was provided by Mrs. Frank Lee, organist and MarkO. King, soloist, of Ft Leonard Wood, Miss. The couple will make their home at 105 S. Peru St, Platts- burg, New York. Miss Kay Thomas Weds Mr. Ronnie Mann On March 28 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Miss Kaye Thomas of Joanna and Mr. Ronnie Mann of Atlanta spoke their wedding vows at the First Assembly of God Church, Atlanta, Ga. Miss Karen Nabors of Joanna was maid of honor and Miss Car r>- lyn Boiter of Decatur, Ga. was her bridesmaid. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr.W. F. Boisky of Joanna.
