County Rabies Clinics
To Start On April 16
Rabies Clinics will be held
throughout Laurens County from
Thursday, April 16 through Sat
urday, May 2.
South Carolina law requires
that all dogs be innoculated an
nually. To aid persons have their
dogs innoculated, the Laurens
County Health Department is
sponsoring 40 clinics to be held
at various places in the county.
During these clinics, which will
be staffed by a graduate veter-
narian and a sanitarian from the
health department, dogs will
be innoculated for a reduced fee.
All dogs owners are requested
to bring their dogs to one of the
clinics for innoculation against
rabies. Listed below are clinic
dates and time:

Wright's Unit
Earns Award
Technical. Sergeant Jack
Wright, son of EdwardO. Wright,
905 Sloan St., Clinton, is a mem
ber of a unit that has earned
the U. S. Air Force Outstandmg
Unit Award.
The 437th MilitaryAirliftWing
at Charleston AFB, was cited for
meritorious service from July
1968 to July 1969 for its support
of military operations. This
marks the fourth time in five
years the wing has been honored
as an outstanding unit.
Sergeant Wright, an aircraft
mamtenance technician in the
437th, will wear the distinctive
service ribbon to mark his af
filiation with the unit.
The organization is a part of
the Military Airlift Command
which provides global airlift for
,U. S. military forces.
The sergeant is a 1954 grad
uate of Clinton High School. His
wife, Marilyn, is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thurmond Wil
liams, 306 Chaple St., Hampton,
Va.
LAST TRICK OF MR. EDGAR’—
Carnival mannikins stage a bizarre
competition in ‘The Last Trick of Mr.
Edgar’, a black comedy by Laterna
Migika directcr Jan Svankmaper of
Prague. It is one of 2G films includ
ed in ‘The Kinetic Art’, the three-
program film series which will be
given its South Carolina Premier
during the fourth annual Festival of
Arts this month at Presbyterian Col
lege.

"The Kinetic Art," a showcase
for international prize winning
films fr >m nine countries, will
be given its South Carolina Pre
miere during the fourth annual
Festival of Arts this month on
the Presbyterian College cam
pus.
The three film concerts will
be presented in Belk Auditorium
at the following times: Program
1 - Monday, April 20, 8 p.m. and
Saturday, May 2, 4 p.m.; Pro
gram 2 - Tuesday, April 21,
7:15 a. 9 p.m ; and Program 3 -
M nday, April 27, 7:15 4 9 p.m.
and Saturday, May 2, 8 p.m. Tic
kets for each of the programs
will be on sale at the door,
students, $1 and adults, $1.50.
The 26 films vary from 55
seconds to 55 minutes in length
and are receiving enthusias
tic acceptance from theatre and
concert goers, art patrons and
college students seeking a new
and stimulating approach to film
entertainment as a performing
art.
The series has already key
noted such distinguished film fes
tivals as NewYork’s LincolnCen-
ter, Atlanta's High Museum, the
Saratoga Summer Festival, and
the Concoran Gallery of Art in
Washington, D. C.
Critics praise of Kinetic Art

planning of this cinema festival
as one of the many exciting events
occuring during this year’s ex
panded Festival of Arts, April 20
- May 3. The Kinetic Art is ex
pected to be a highlight of the
Festival.

Supporters
To Meet
Former students of Clemson
University who live in Laurens
County, IPTAY members, friends
of Clemson and their wives and
guests will observe the tenth an
nual “Clemson Week Around The
World” on Wednesday evening,
April 15, in the Laurens High
School cafeteria.
Social hour will begin at 7 p.
m. and dinner will be served at
7:30 p.m.
Clemson Clubs throughout the
world will be meeting that week
to enjoy a tradition of fellowship
that is repeated annually on
an evening during the week of
April 13-April 18.
A special guest speaker from
Clemson University will attend
and an evening of fun and fellow
ship is planned. Reservations for
dinner must be made by April 11th.

He and Dick Swetenburg of Clin
ton and Marvin Robinson of Lau
rens will be in charge of this
year's Clemson Week program.

Mountville Church
Plans Revival
A special weekend revival is
scheduled this weekend at the
Mountville Baptist Church, lo
cated on Highway 72 about 10
miles from Clinton.
Services will be held at 7:30
each evening, April 10-12, with
the pastor, Rev. Loyd Melton,
bringing the messages. W. W.
Willingham, pastor of Cross Hill
Baptist Church, will direct the
singing. The public is invited.

Coker Performance
Lee Davis of Clinton and Mary
(Sister) Wham of Mountville will
be Maids-of-Honor to Princess
Snow White in a presentation of
“Snow White, and the Seven
Dwarfs” beginning tonight,
Thursday, at Coker College.
The performance by Coker
sophomores will be repeated Fri-
day at 8 p.m. and again Saturday
morning at 10 o’clock.
