Army recently after 21 years of ser vice. He is orginally from Me ridian, Miss., and Mrs. Satcher is from England. ULDRICK DISCHARGED Sp-4 John Kenneth Uldrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Uldrick of Marion St., served 13 months with the 8th Army Honor Guard in Seoul, Korea prior his dis charge from the U. S. Army. He returned to Joanna on Mon day having served two years in the Army. On Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Boyce visited Mr. and Mrs. Guy Misenhiemer, in Chester. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Dent of Union visited Mrs. Catherine Craven on Sunday. On Saturday, Miss Mot Cra ven, Mrs. Becky Dent of Union, Mr. and Mrs. Janice Strickling visited in Greenville. Mrs. J. F. Lowman left on Monday to spend a week in White- rock with Mrs. J. J. Lowman. Last weekend her guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman Jr. of Greenwood and their son, Ron- ny who has just completed his basic training in the Navy at Orlando, Fla. Following his leave he will report to Memphis, Tenn., for 15 weeks of schooling. SURPRISE PARTY On Wednesday evening, Rev. John Martin was given a sur prise birthday dinner at the Faith Tabernacle Church parsonage in Joanna on the Whitmire Road. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the women of the church. Rev. Martin was re membered with gifts. The hour of fellowship was enjoyed prior their regular prayer meeting time. Dr. R. S. Truluck Jr. of the South Main Street Baptist Church, Greenwood will preach during the meeting and Mr. Milton Fisher, Minister of Music of the Green wood Church will direct the sing ing. Ministers and members of all churches are invited to come and worship with us during this week’s services, and those with no church affiliation are warmly welcomed in all the services of the church. Dr. Truluck is a native of Clinton and was ordained to the ministry at FirstBaptistChurch. He has served pastorates inSouth Carolina, Kentucky and Virginia. DAVE STEWART Stewart Heads Textile Futures' Dave Stewart, Laurens Mills Personnel Manager, has been de signated Laurens County’s “Tex tiles Futures Month” Chairman. “Operation Future" will be the textile industry’s first united tex tile recruiting effort. It will out line the opportunities available in today’s modern textile indus try. The program is being spon sored in Laurens County by Clin ton Mills; Laurens Mills and the Gilliland Plant, both divisions of Derring Milliken; Watts Mill, a division of J. P. Stevens; Bonte Industries; and Palmetto Spin ning. All are leading Laurens County textile employers. Little Theatre To Present 'Reminisce-In' The Greenville Little Theatre will present “A Reminisce-In”, a musical presentation about the beginning and development of Pleasantburg in 1770, to Green ville, The International Textile Center 1970. With a cast of over 100, “A Reminisce-In" was writ ten by Miss Laura Ebaugh and is being directed by Robert Hemphill McLane. It will be presented Friday, May 1st at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2nd at 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Advance reservations are now being received through P.O. REVIVAL SERVICES The First Penticostal Holiness Church on Jackson Street wiU begin revival services, Monday, March 23, and continue through Sunday, March 29. Services will begin at 7 o’clock with special singing each night. The pastor, Rev. J. Furman Entrekin, will be the speaker for the revival services and invites everyone to attend. Bankhead Speaks At Ioanna Church Mr. James Bankhead of the Columbia Theological Seminary will preach Sunday morning, March 22, at the First Presby terian Church of Joanna.
