C. INTERESTING FACTS By Tom Plaxico Although the Statue of Liberty is one of our proudest possessions, it’s surprising how few Americans can name the man who designed it. He was Frederick Bartholdi. And, few people know that his mother served as the model. Did you know there once was a man who was BOTH an internationally famous pianist and the prime minister of a major country in his lifetime? He was Ipnace Paderewski, the great musician, who became prime minister of Poland in 1919. Did you know that the Democratic and Re publican parties started with different names? The Republicans were originally called Federalists, and the Democrats, oddly enough, were originally called Republicans! ****** And, here’s another interesting fact . . . This is the week in which we celebrate George Washington’s birthday. Our first President’s name has come down to us as the symbol of absolute honesty and integrity. And that is what we strive very hard to achieve in our business — Honest prices on cars which are honestly described to you. Give us a try at being the George Washington of the 1970’s.
