Evans Awarded Army Medal In Vietnam Army Sergeant First Class Isaac D. Evans, whose mother, Mrs. Leona F. Evans, and wife, Inge, live at 633 Whitmire Road, Joanna, received the Army Com mendation Medal while serving with the 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam. He earned the award for meri torious service as a mess ste ward with Headquarters Com pany of the division’s 8th En gineer Battalion. Bill lones Is Promoted At Torrinqton William E. (Bill) Jones re cently was promote^ to foreman of the Centerless Grinding Dept, at The Torrington Co., Clinton Bearings Plant. A native of Gaffney, Mr. Jones joined the Torrington Company in 1961 as a trainee. He has completed several supervisory training courses offered at the Clinton plant and at the Green ville Technical Education Center. He and his wife, Joyce, have two children, Tommy and Mark, and they reside at Route 1, Small wood, Clinton. They are members of Davidson St. Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones also Is employed at Torrington as a department clerk. Jr., Mrs. James Seawright, Mrs. Reese Young and Mrs. Madison Pitts.
