Employers Have
Important Tax
Deadline Feb. 2
Employers have an important
tax deadline Monday, February
2, 1970.
That is the last day for re
porting Social Security and with
held income taxes for the calen
dar quarter ended December 31,
1969, according to H.M. McLeod,
District Director of Internal Re
venue for South Carolina.
Employers who received a pre
addressed Form 941, “Em
ployer’s Quarterly Federal Tax
Return,’’ should use this form to
report their tax liability.
If the balance due on the re
turn is over $100, it should be
deposited in an approved
commercial bank or Federal Re
serve Bank using Federal Tax
Deposit Form 501.
February 2 is also the last
day for reporting and paying Fe
deral Unemployment Tax for
1969. Employers liable for this
tax should file Form 940.
“Circular E--Employer’s Tax
Guide,” Publication 15, furnishes
detailed information on these
taxes. It may be obtained flhe
at your nearest Internal Keren e
Service office. '
