CLYDE TRAMMELL, Correspondent and Representative Phone 833-2006 Miss Gloria Jackson of Green wood spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Ezzie Miller and Mr. Miller. Mrs. Clyde Trammell and Mrs. E. C. Taylor Jr. attended a reception honoring the Worthy Grand Matron and Patron of S. C. Order of the Eastern Star at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Furman Corley in Greenwood Saturday afternoon. They later attended the Mary Pinkney Outz Chapter Meeting at the Masonic Temple in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilkie also attend ed the Chapter Meeting Saturday evening. Mrs. Jessie Abercrombie has been in Greenwood with her hus band who is a patient in Self Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. John Fuller and children spent the weekend in Greenville with Mr. and Mrs. Colie Fuller. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Parrish Jr. of Aiken were Saturday visit ors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Parrish Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. LewisMcCravey and son of Greenville were re cent visitors of Mrs. Roy Snider and family. Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and family of Anderson were Sunday supper guests of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tram mell. S/Sgt. Billy Dickerson of Ft. Knox, Ky., spent the weekend with Mrs. Dickerson and daughter and his mother, Mrs. Mildred Dick erson. T/Sgt. and Mrs. Coy O’Shields and family of Manassas, Va., were here for New Years with her mother, Mrs. Stella McLendon and sister, Mrs. Jim Bailey and brother Paul McLendon. Dalton’s anniversary will also be Jan. 19. * * * Von Hollen Heads Bankers Group James Von Hollen of Clinton has been named Group 3 Repre sentative of the South Carolina Bankers Association. He was elected recently at a group meeting in Greenville, one of six group meetings throughout the state. Counties in the six groups correspond to the state’s six congressional districts. Mr. Von Hollen is vice pre sident of M.S. Bailey and Son, Bankers, in Clinton. Employers Have Important Tax Deadline Feb. 2 Employers have an important tax deadline Monday, February 2, 1970. That is the last day for re porting Social Security and with held income taxes for the calen dar quarter ended December 31, 1969, according to H.M. McLeod, District Director of Internal Re venue for South Carolina. Employers who received a pre addressed Form 941, “Em ployer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return,’’ should use this form to report their tax liability. If the balance due on the re turn is over $100, it should be deposited in an approved commercial bank or Federal Re serve Bank using Federal Tax Deposit Form 501. February 2 is also the last day for reporting and paying Fe deral Unemployment Tax for 1969. Employers liable for this tax should file Form 940. “Circular E--Employer’s Tax Guide,” Publication 15, furnishes detailed information on these taxes.
