Miss Betty Jones Weds
Gehrig William Green
Miss Betty Ruth Jones and Mr.
Gehrig William Greene spoke
their wedding vows on Dec. 12
at the First Baptist Church, Clin
ton. Rev. Joseph Haynesworth
Darr performed the 7 o'clock
ceremony. A reception was
given in the social hall of the
church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Rector
Jones of 209 Ferguson Street
and the groom is the son of Mrs.
Clarence Dunaway of 401 Jack-
son Street.
The bride chose a formal gown
in peau-de-soie and chantilace,
designed with a fitted bodice of
scalloped overlace and scallop
ed neckline. The sheath skirt was
embroidered in sequins. Her cha
pel train was adorned with lace
motifs and sequins. Lace petals
edged in seed pearls held her
veil of illusion.
Bridesmaids were Miss Celia
Peggy Jones ofOrangeburg, Mrs.
Michael Jones, Mrs. Randy
Crowder, Miss Lorraine Duna
way, and Miss Barbara Casey,
all of Clinton. Junior bridesmaids
were Misses Barbara Elaine
Jones, Lyn Wilbanks of Clinton
and Miss Vanette Jones of
Orangeburg.
Bridesmaids wore formal
gowns of dark red velvet. De
tails included an Empire bodice
with white Venise Lace trim,
Victorian neck bordered in lace,
long sleeves and an A-line skirt.
Flowergirl, Miss Emily Lou
Jones, sister of the bride, wore
a white velvet gown of similar
design.
Bestman was William Thomas
Norris of Clinton. Ushers were
Mr. Homer Michael Jones, bro
ther of the bride, Mr. Alvin Hen
ry Donnan Jr., Mr. JamesWayne
Roach, Mr. James Wade Good
man, Jr., and John Archille Thi
bodeau, allofClinton. Master Ray
Tucker of Clinton was ring-
bearer.
Organist was Mrs. Grace Con
nor. Soloist was Miss Claire Dun
can, who sang the “Wedding Pray
er" and “A Time For Us."
For traveling the bride wore
a navy dress and white wool
coat with navy accessories.
Mr. Greene is a 1968 graduate
of Clinton High School and is
employed at Monsanto near
Greenwood. Mrs. Greene attend
ed Clinton Public Schools and is
employed by United Mills.

Honored On
Birthday
Miss Jane Ferguson was hon
ored with a drop-in Friday af
ternoon by her sister, Mrs. Tom
Salters, on the occasion of her
84th birthday.
Punch, coffee, sandwiches and
birthday cake were served from
the prettily appointed table.
During the afternoon relatives,
neighbors and a number of friends
called to wish “MissJane" a hap
py birthday.
Miss Ferguson, Mrs. Salters
and their brother, Mr. Pierce
Ferguson make their home on
South Holland Street.
Money Raiser
Herbert Hoover raised
more money for the relief of
war-destitute persons than
anyone else in history. More
than $8.1 billion in govern
ment and private funds were
allocated to World War I re
lief under his direction.
After a wedding trip the couple
will make their home at219South
Woodrow Street, Clinton.
Prenuptial parties given for
the bride included the brides
maids luncheon which was given
on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the
Wrangler. Hostesses to a steak
dinner at this time were Mrs.
James Goodman, Mrs. Faye Har
ris and Mrs. Randy Crowder.
The table was decorated with
white glads and mums inter
spersed with red carnations.

Mr. and Mrs. HermanE. Jack-
son announce the birth of a son,
Brad Patrick, on Dec. 15 at Bai
ley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Jackson is the former
Doris Rosamond of Greenville.
The couple have two other sons,
Greg and Todd.
Mr. Jackson is football coach
at Presbyterian College.

birth of a daughter, Mary Jane,
on Dec. 2 at Bailey Memorial
Hospital.

8 at Self Memorial Hospital,
