Under the direc tion of Mrs. Eva Land, they per formed such Christmas songs as “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night," and “Frosty the Snowman." Although the Red Devils were downed in their first basketball game of the season, they are pre paring for a quick comeback a- gainst the Belton-Honea Path Bears this Friday. This game will be their first home game. Lead ing this year’s team are Co captains Matthew King and Buzzy Tedards. The annual Harvest Ball was held at the Mary Musgrove Hotel and featured colorful fall decora tions. Center of interest was a large glowing moon under which was a jouial scarecrow straddling a split rail fence. Big glass hurricane globes heaped with fruit and circled with magnolia leaves were placed in the center of each table. Guests took time out to enjoy refreshments at intermission. The long table was covered with green clothes alternating with autumn gold. Della robia garlands gracefully encompassed the table. Music for provided by R.G.’s’ the occasion “Randy and was the School Marching Band. The band is under the direction of Mr. Bob Smith. The Glee Club has a new di rector, Mrs. Diane Clements. A resident of Clinton, Mrs. Cle ments has been leading the Glee Club in the singing of many Christmas carols and songs. PTO Has Program A program entitled “Musical Christmas Card” was present ed by the children of M. S. Bailey School at the December 8 meeting of the Bailey School PTO. President Talmadge Sand ers presided, and welcomed new members. Mrs. Wayne Samples, secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Milling Blalock from Florence and Miss Almena Blalock from Atlanta were with their parents, Dr. and Mrs. George Blalock. Also attending the party with her parents was Miss Sara Sad ler who has been living in Wash ington, D. C. These family groups brought to mind an old American custom that Thanksgiving is the time when families gather together. Mrs. Thomas Stallworth honored Mrs. Martha Lynn with a luncheon Tuesday at her home on Walnut St. Her husband, Dr. Lynn who is moderator of Presbyterian Church spoke at PC assembly Tuesday morning. Mrs. Stallworth served a de licious and attractive Christmas salad course. Junior High Dance Slated Saturday At Y A dance for Junior high age students only will be held Satur day night at the Clinton YMCA.
