HARVEST BALL
Cotillion Club members and
their guests danced under the
light of a harvest moon Saturday
night, November 29.
The annual Harvest Ball was
held at the Mary Musgrove Hotel
and featured colorful fall decora
tions.
Center of interest was a large
glowing moon under which was a
jouial scarecrow straddling a
split rail fence.
Big glass hurricane globes
heaped with fruit and circled with
magnolia leaves were placed in
the center of each table.
Guests took time out to enjoy
refreshments at intermission.
The long table was covered with
green clothes alternating with
autumn gold. Della robia garlands
gracefully encompassed the
table.

TURKEY DAY PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shields in
vited guests to their Chestnut
Street home Thursday, Nov. 27,
to drop-in during the late morn
ing hours for a delicious “pickup"
lunch.
Their friends always look for
ward to this traditional pre-game
party held on Thanksgiving Day.
A handsome green wreath lad-
ened with fruits and berries a-
dorning the front door set the
pace for a holiday mood.
Mr. and Mrs. William King
from Summerville, Ga., were
there. Mrs. King is the sister of
Mrs. Shields and Ferd Jacobs.
Bill Shields' brother Ronald
and his wife came from Char
leston, W. Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Milling Blalock
from Florence and Miss Almena
Blalock from Atlanta were with
their parents, Dr. and Mrs.
George Blalock.
Also attending the party with
her parents was Miss Sara Sad
ler who has been living in Wash
ington, D. C.
These family groups brought
to mind an old American custom
that Thanksgiving is the time
when families gather together.
Mrs. Thomas Stallworth
honored Mrs. Martha Lynn with
a luncheon Tuesday at her home
on Walnut St.
Her husband, Dr. Lynn who is
moderator of Presbyterian
Church spoke at PC assembly
Tuesday morning.
Mrs. Stallworth served a de
licious and attractive Christmas
salad course.
