Whitten
Santa Claus arrived early for
the residents of Cottage 26-A at
Whitten Village. With Christmas
spirits high, the members of the
Clinton Newcomers Club enter
tained the children at a Christ
mas party on Monday, Dec. L
Christmas carols filled the
room as the members served de
corated cookies and punch to the
honored children. Yarn snow
men, made by the club members,
and name tags were given as
favors.
To the delight of all, Santa
Claus arrived bearing small gifts
for all the residents.
The party ended an a festive
note and a good time was had
by all!

Entertains
Actaean Club
Mrs. H. M. Wise entertained
the Actaeon Book Club in her
home on December 5 at three
o’clock in the afternoon, with a
lovely Christmas party.
A business meeting was held
for the election of new officers.
Mrs. William Redd Turner was
elected president and Mrs. Ro
bert M. Vance elected secretary
and treasurer.
Several rounds of Rook were
enjoyed, followed with a game of
Bingo. Mrs. Robert McLees won
the Bingo prize. Then a deli
cious salad plate was served.
Thirteen members were pre
sent and two guests, Mrs. H. D.
Payne and Miss Ruth Bailey.

daughter, Angela Michelle, on
Nov. 27th at Sewart Air Force
Base Hospital, Smyrna, Tenn.
Mrs. Sanders is the former,
Sue Bragg, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Bragg of Clinton. Pa
ternal grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Sanders of Clinton.

Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Lanford
Baptist Church. A reception in the
church social hall was given by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wood-
row Lanford of Lanford.
The bride was a dental assist
ant at Whitten Village in Clin
ton before her marriage, having
been graduated from the den
tal assistant program at Green
ville Technical Education Center.
The groom works for Winston
Industries in Bunn, N. C. He
attended the University of South
Carolina. His parents, Mr. and
Mrs. James Henry Blore, live at
202 Edgewood Drive in Knollwood
Heights at Mauldin.
Given in marriage by her fa
ther, the bride wore a formal
length wedding gown that was de
signed by herself and made by
Dior flat bow held her chapel
length train at the waist. A
Swedish coronet of embroided
flowers and petals held a bouf
fant veil of silk illusion. The
white orchid she carried was sur
rounded with stephanotis.
Mrs. Bryan Thomas Reid of
Woodruff was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Gail Rid
dle of Laurens; Miss Janet Mar
lowe of Powdersville.
The attendants gowns were
Caribbean blue crepe with dres-
den lines, featuring a choir col
lar and button front bodice,
and designed with a high waist
and slight bell skirt. The bishop
sleeves had wide cuffs with button
trim. Each dress was topped with
a royal blue velvet weskit. Each
carried a royal blue muff with
pink and white mums.

Victorian neckline jeweled in seed
pearls, and empire bodice and

pearls. Buttons were on the
sleeve cuff and bodice back. A

Insurance Claims Climb
NEW YORK—The cost to
insurance companies of paying
claims growing out of auto acci
dents is mounting steadily, says
the Insurance Information In
stitute. From 1958 through
1968, the average bodily injury
liability claim rose 58 per cent
from $981 to $1,550 and the
average property damage liabil
ity claim climbed 77 per cent
from $151 to $267.
