Mrs. Davis
HONEA PATH - Mrs. Beulah
Adams Davis, 84, of 6 Georgia
St, died Saturday. She was the
mother of Mrs. J. C. Lollis of
Joanna.
Other survivors include five
sons, four other daughters, 55
grandchildren, 93 great-grand
children and 34 great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Monday at Pentecostal
Holiness Church in Belton with
burial inthe Garden of Memories.
I. P. Young
LAURENS - J. P. Young, 81,
of Enoree, died Monday.
A native of Newberry County,
he was born and reared in the
home of the late S. C. governor
Coley L. Biease. His parents
were the late Wash and Alice
Young. He was a retired painter.
Survivii.j are two daughters,
Mrs. Estelle Williams of Joanna
and Mrs. Emma Meadors of Co-
of Joanna and Robert Young of
Baltimore, Ifd.; 12 grandchildren
and a number of great-grand
children.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at Beaver Dam Bap
tist Church. Burial was in the
church cemetery.

Madrigal Singers
To Appear On TV
Three television appearances
are scheduled for Presbyterian
College’s colorful Madrigal Sing
ers during December, Director
Charles T. Gaines announced to
day.
Two of the shows will be pre
sented over the South Carolina
Educational Television network
on a program called “Time for
Sounds--4.’’ These can be seen
on Tuesday (Dec. 9 and 16) and
Thursday (Dec. 11 and 18) at 9:15
a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.
The other appearance of PC’s
Madrigal Singers is to be in
color on Monday, Dec. 22, some
time between 9 and 10 a.m. on
“Today in Carolina” over WE-
TV, Columbia. A court jester,
magician and the Morris Danc-
lumbia; three sons, Robert Lee ers also will be featured in these

Last Tuesday the juniors and
seniors received their long-anti
cipated pictures. Each of these
upper-classmen was allowed to
select his picture from three
proofs which he received short
ly after the pictures were made
in September. The seniors es
pecially will enjoy exchanging
pictures with their friends.
As basketball season ap
proaches, the interest of the
sports-minded students is turned
from football to basketball. The
first game of the season will be
held Thursday Dec. 4 at Belton-
Honea Path High School.
Participating in the Clinton
Christmas parade will be many
students from CHS. Some of these
are Miss CHS and her attend
ants, the band, and the senior
Horizon group.
Recently the Student Council
has started its basket drive. Each
homeroom is asked to fill a bas
ket with non-perishable foods.
The baskets will be distributed
to needy families on Dec. 19 by
members of the Student Council.
