The giant vehicle, which has a maximum speed of 5 miles per hour, will be used to transport the nuclear reactor vessel for the first unit of Duke Power’s Oconee NViclear Station near Clemson. This vessel, which is now being fabricated in Mount Vernon, Indi ana, will weigh in excess of 800 tons. It is expected to reach its Oconee destination in October after a month-long trip down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, across the Gulf of Mexico, up the In land Waterway to Savannah, up the Savannah River to North Au gusta, and finally overland to the site. 8-A—THE CHRONICLE. Burial was in the church cemetery. * * * Mrs. Little Mrs. Ada Nance Little, 79, died in a local hospital Sunday. Surviving are a brother, Willie Nance of Washington, D. C.; and a sister, Mrs. Annie Lee Fort- son of Clinton. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at Hebron Bap tist Church. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Congressman Joseph R. Bryson of South Carolina. She was an Episcopalian. Her first husband was the late John Griffin Pitts, Jr. of Clinton. Survivors include her husband, Capt. William Willard DeVenter, USN; a brother, Robert L, Crisp Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; and her stepmother, Mrs. R. Latham Crispof West Columbia. Funeral services will be con ducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home by the Rev. W. F. Mitchell. Burial will be in Liberty Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cross Hill. * * * Mrs. Richey HONEA PATH - Mrs. Della Adams Richey, 97, of Route 3, Honea Path, died Monday. She was the stepmother of H. W. Richey of Clinton. He was a retired longshore man from New York but lived in Clinton with a sister. Burial was in the church ceme tery. * * * Mrs. Smith NINETY SIX - Mrs. Alice Tur ner Smith, 63, died in a Green wood hospital Monday. She was the mother of Mrs. NaudineRowe and Mrs. Mertis Rhodes, both of Clinton. Ohter survivors include three other daughters; four sons;three sisters; three brothers; 31 grand children and eight great-grand children. Funeral services were con ducted Wednesday at the Church of God. * * * * * * Mrs. Watson Mrs. Millie Watson, wife of Lonnie Watson, died at her home on Gary Street Sunday. For many years she owned and operated Watson’s Grocery Store. Surviving also are a daughter, Mrs. Louise Miller of the home; a sister, Mrs. Marion Pinson of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother, W. C. Worthy of Joanna. Funeral services were con ducted Wednesday at Hebron Bap tist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. ♦ * * Miss Rice LAURENS - Miss Cornelia Rice, 63, of 215 Pridmore St., died Monday. She was a sister of John Rice of Clinton. Other surviviors include three other brothers and three sisters. White Sr., died Friday night at a local hospital. She was a life-long resident of Laurens County, daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Corbin Griffin. She was a member of Da vidson Street Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L. J. (Irene) Crawford of Wichita Falls, Tex., and Mrs. J.L (Linda) Martin of Inman; three sons, Allen W. White, Jr. and Richard G. White of Clinton and Don White of Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. J. B. (Clara) Schulze of Easley and Mrs. Kate Taylor of Laurens; three bro thers, Clarence Griffin of Ander son Chesley and Harold Griffin of Greenville; and nine grand children. Funeral services were conduc ted Sunday at Davidson Street Baptist Church. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. * * * William Hill William (Bunker) Hill, 62, died Saturday in a Mt. Ranier, Md., hospital. He was a son of the late Madi son R. Hill and Alma W. Hill and was bom in Cross Hill. He lived in Washington, D.C. for 36 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary S.
