C., May 22, 1969—3-B Legal Notices WEEKLY CROSSWORD PUZZLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals from General Contractors will be received by the City Council, City of Clinton, South Carolina, in the City Coun cil Chamber of Clinton City Hall at 3:00 P.M., May 23, 1969, for the construction of a new City Hall, North Broad Street, Clin ton, South Carolina. General Contractors may ob tain bidding documents from the office of Craig and Gaulden, Ar chitects, A.K.A., 1922 Augusta Road, Greenville, South Carolina, upon receipt of plan deposit and evidence of Contractor’s compe tence for this type project. The plan deposit is $50.00 per set for the first two sets returned in good condition within ten days after the opening of bids. Ad ditional sets of bidding documents in excess of two may be pro cured from the Architect at $50.00 per set on which no re fund will be made. Contractors must submit a bona fide bid to be eligible for refund of any money deposited for the loan of the bidding documents. If Contractor decides not to sub mit a bid, the Architect’s office must be advised and the bidding documents returned at least one week prior to bid date to be eli gible for refund of deposit. Sub contractors desiring bidding do cuments may procure them from the Architect for $50.00 per set on which no refund will be made. The Contract, if awarded, wiU be on a lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after date of opening. Five (5%) percent bid bond and one hundred (100%) per cent Performance and Labor and Material Payment bond shall be required. M15-2t-M22 Rice Serves In Caribbean Sonar Technician SeamanWal- ter Rice Jr., USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rice Sr, of Joanna, is aboard the USS Ed ward McDonnell in the Carib bean off Puerto Rico. The ship is participating in a joint service, amphibious and airborne exercise, “Operation Exotic Dancer II.” The exercise is designed to test and improve existing joint service proce dures. Elements of Army and Air Force units as well as Naval ships and aircraft and Marine Corps units are participating in the 14-day operation. Amphibious forces are using both surface attacks on teaches and airborne assaults with heli copters from ships iff shore. During the exercise, Atlantic Fleet ships and aircraft are si mulating shore bombardment and air strikes in support of the amphibious forces. Eirst, we re print below our Ten Command ments for a Happy Marriage which have had wide distribu tion over the years. 1. Thou shalt not marry in hsste or thou mayest repent in leisure. 2. Thou shalt have a home of thine own no matter how small. By your marriage you transfer your allegiance from your fat her’s house to your own. Keep it there and save trouble. 3. Thou shalt make a family budget and live up to it. 4. Thou shalt observe birthdays and anniversaries. They are the windows to a home. Continue courting and you will stay out of court. 5. Thou shalt practice thy re ligion at home. If it won’t work there, there is something wrong with the religion or with you. Find out. Look for the test in life - not the worst. Show appre ciation for the virtues of others and try to overlook the faults. 6. Thou shalt watch the little things - sharp words, annoying habits. One match will start a fire. 7. Thou shalt have a family al tar. If you are too busy to read the Bible and pray daily, you are busier than the Lord ever inten ded you to be and too busy for your own good. 8. Thou shalt serve the Lord in His church. You would not live in a city without churches. If you want the tenefits, be wil ling to share the responsibilities. 9. Thou shalt have suitable re creations with friends of thine own age and station. Keeping up with the Joneses makes trouble. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no work is just as bad. 10. Thou shalt regard thy child- renas amongGod’s greatest gifts. Treat them as such. 11.
