days in Red Springs, N.C. with
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Austin last
week. Mrs. Austin and daughter
Cristen accompanied her back to
Clinton on Sunday to spend this
week with Mrs. Austin’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Snelgrove.
Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams
spent the weekend in Aiken with
his daughter, Mrs. G. C. Par
rish Jr. and Mr. Parrish. On
Saturday afternoon they all en
joyed the beauties of the Edisto
and other gardens in Orange
burg.
Mrs. Addie Bee Coleman has
returned to her home after sev
eral weeks illness in the New
berry Hospital.
Mrs. Mary Fallaw returned to
her home Saturday following a
week’s visit with her daughter,
Mrs. David Storay, Mr. Storay
and family in Greenville. The
Storays accompanied her home
and were supper guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Fallaw and
Mrs. Fallaw.
Jane Beukema of Liberty
spent a few days last week with
Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cooper.
Friday Mrs. Marion Caldwell
and children andGeorge Wade Jr.
of Great Falls visited the Coopers
and their mother, Mrs. Wade Sr.
who has been recuperating at
her daughters, Mrs. Cooper after
an illness at Bailey Memorial
Hospital. On Saturday Mrs. Coop
er and Francis Cooper accom
panied Mrs. Wade to her home
in Great Falls. Francis remain
ed for the weekend and Becky
Cooper returned home with Mrs.
Caldwell for the weekend.

KINDERGARTEN BEGINS
ENROLLMENT
The Lydia Presbyterian
Church Kindergarten will begin
registering children for the 1969-
1970 school year on April 20.
Any child who will be 4 or 5
An open house will be held at
the church, Sunday, April 20 from
3 to 4 p.m.
All children who are interested
in registering and their parents
are invited to attend.
Children maybe enrolled at this
time, or at any time in the next
two weeks, by coming by the
church office.
Registration fee is $5 deduc
table from the September tui
tion fee. Tuition fee is $10 per
month.
If any eligible child would like
to visit the kindergarten this
spring, this may be arranged by

On Thursday evening the Lydia
Woman’s Club met at the Com
munity Building before going to
the Merle NormanStudiofor their
meeting.
After a short business meet
ing with Mrs. Clyde TrammeU
presiding, Mrs. John Gallman,
owner and operator of the Stu
dio gave a make-op demonstra
tion on Mrs. Jimmy Meeks, ex
plaining as she worked the proper
way of applying make-up to the
face, eyes and lips. She alse
showed several wigs which
several of the ladies modeled.
As hostess, Mrs. Ralph Rid
dle served party refreshments
from a pretty appointed table
draped in hot pink net
Mrs. David Word presented
Mrs. Gallman a gift from the
club, thanking her for having the
club meet there. She in turn gave
each member samples of the
Merle Norman products.
Mrs. Meeks and Mrs. Myrtle
Alewane were welcomed as new
members.
