Harris saw a Little Theatre production of the “King md I" in Greenville recently. Among the students home for the weekend were, William Bell, of Clemson University, Phil Motes of the Baptist College at Charleston, and Bob Jones of Newberry College. Miss Connie Miles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otie Miles of Jo anna, who is student at Win- throp College is spending semis- ter break with her parents. Scott Hammet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hay Hammet, who is a student at Darlington Military School, Rome, Ga., spent the weekend with his parents. Mrs. John Frampton of Char leston joined Mrs. George W. Taylor here and they spent the past weekend in Blowing Rock, N.C. Mrs. Robert E. Wysor joined her sister, Miss Margaret Kent Bell in Asheville today and they are spending a few days with re latives in Stauten and other points in Virginia. Dr. and Mrs. Marc C. Weer- sing, Dr. and Mrs. Marshall Brown spent Saturday in Char lotte, N.C. Mrs. Everette Carson of Gas tonia, N.C. spent Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. John Roseboro and Mrs. Roseboro. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dobbins of Joanna spent the weekend inKin- ston r N.C. with Mr. and Mrs. Michael Surles and son, Mark. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Simpson attended a fifteen year class re union of his high school in Cov ington, Ga. over the weekend. Mrs. Harry C. Layton and daughter Miss Jean Layton of Greenville are spending several days in Florida visiting rela tives in Jacksonville and Orman Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Tom B. Cooper, Mr. Charlie Cooper spent a re cent Sunday in Charlotte with their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ashmore. Mrs. James Rainey of Water- boro, is spending two months with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. D. H. McFadden, while Mr. Rainey is taking basic training with the U.S. Navy in Orlando, Fla. Kenneth and Bobby Thomas at tended the Charlotte “500” Race Sunday. The Delta Kappa Gamma had a luncheon meeting at Holiday Inn, Greenwood, on Saturday, Oct. 19. Attending from Clinton were, Miss June Adair, Mesdames Grace Connor, Nene D. Work man, M. C. Poole, Louis Wal lace and C. R. Jenkins. Mr. and Mfs*. ^James Sloan, Jr. of Cambridge, Mass, were weekend visitors of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sloan, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Blalock, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Pinson. Mrs. E. W. Rogers and child ren, Miss Mickie Rogers, David and Chris spent the weekend at Lake Junaluska, N.C. with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson and fami ly of Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Dow were in Atlanta last week where they attended the national convention of the American Photoplatemak- ers Association held at the Mar riott Hotel. Mrs. Roy Edwards of Orange burg is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Charles R. Ray and Mr. Ray, coming especially to see her granddaughter. Mr. James R. Parks Sr., of Rt. 5, Union passed away on Monday afternoon at a Lockhart. He was the brother of Mrs Sandy Garner of Clinton. Wayrfe Dixon who is stationed in California with the U.S. Navy spent a short leave with Mrs. Dixon and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dixon. LOSES BROTHER James Reeford Parks Sr., of Rt. 5, Union died Monday after noon in a Lockhart hospital. Fun eral services were conducted yesterday at the Phillipi Baptist Church. Survivors include a sis ter, Mrs. Sandy Garner of Clin ton. The hairy blenny, a small fish exhibited at Marine land of Flori da, has hairlike growths which form “eyebrows" over its eyes. CHS Class of '58 Has Reunion The Clinton High School class of 1958 held its 10th reunion Oct. 12 at the Mary Musgrove Hotel. Mistress of ceremonies was Mrs. Jim Casque, the former Jane Anne Davis, now “Miss Anne’ of the Romper Room tele vision show. Following the banquet, a pro gram was presented by Dolly Crouch, David Watts andYinEn Smith. The program was based on the class prophecy, written in 1958, and what the former pupils are doingm'w.Surprising ly enough, some of the prophies have come true. The invocation was given by the Rev. James T. Hughes of Gray Court and the benediction was Presbytery Women To Meet District IV Conference, South Carolina Presbytery, Women of the Church, will tie held Octo ber 27 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church on Old Belfast Road (marked “S-36-58”) near New berry. Registration will tiegin at 2 p.m. The program, planned to give all women an understanding of their participation in the Worship and Work of the Church and of their own organization, will be called to order at 2:30 p.m. The Circle Bible Study for No vember will be moderated by Mrs. Alfred Bixler f Clinton. Women are asked to bring Bibles and their Presbyterian Women’s Workbook. Mrs. George B. Mrs. Crumlin was the mother of the Rev. W'allace Crumlin of Clinton. She died Tuesday morn ing at Spartanburg General Hos pital after a brief illness. She also is survived by four other sons, two of whom are ministers; two daughters, a sis ter, three brothers, 24 grand children and two great-grand children.
