Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Johnson
were in Athens, Ga., last Friday
for commencement exercises at
the University of Georgia. Their
son, Johnnie Johnson of Gaines
ville, Ga., was a member of the
graduating class, receiving a B.S.
degree in Geography. He will
further his education at the Uni
versity in the field of Wildlife
Biology.

Louisville, Ky., last week for the
Southeastern Shrine Association
convention. They went by jet from
Spartanburg-Greenville airport.
W. J. Henry is a patient at
Bailey Memorial Hospital where
he is undergoing treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller and
children, Kevin and Amanda, of
Charleston Heights, have been
visiting her mother, Mrs. Tom
Flow in Joanna and other rela
tives here. The Millers were
transferred from Baltimore,
Md., to Charleston where he is
stationed with the U.S. Navy.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnson have
returned to their home in Bir
mingham, Ala., after spending the
holidays with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam McCrary. Joining
them on Sunday were Mrs. Ralph
Padgett and Howard and Mrs.
J. L. Padgett of Greenwood and
Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Finley and
Jane of Union.

in Florida, going especially to
see Moose Haven at Orange City,

James R. Hitt has returned
to his home in Crete, 111., after
a visit of several days with his
mother, Mrs. Eugene Hitt.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bagwell,
Jr., Nad daughters, Susan and
Kathy of Christiansburg, Va.,
have been spending their vaca
tion here with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Lewis Bagwell. They
spent one day in Atlanta visit
ing “Six Flags Over Georgia”,
and several days in Lakeland,
Fla., with Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
Addy and visited Silver Springs
and other points of interest in
Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Bagwell
accompanied them on the trip to
Florida.

to Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hick
ory, N.C., where he is a stu
dent. He is the son of Mr. and

Dan Robinson of Charlotte,
N.C., was the weekend guest of Ed
Rogers. Dan and Ed are spending
the next several weeks at Myrtle
beach where they have accepted
positions and will remain till
Sept. 19 when they resume their
studies at Duke University, Dur
ham, N.C.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary at
the Shandon Methodist Church,
Columbia recently. The Rev. Mr.

on Sunday for the happy event.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds
and family of Nashville, Tenn.,
were recent guest of his mother
and sister Mrs. Julian Reynolds
and Miss Shirley Reynolds. On
Tuesday they accompanied them
to Windy Hill Beach for several
days. Other guest for the week
end were Mrs. Reynolds sister,
Mrs. Wiley Jennings and child
ren, Jan and Wayne of Kingston,
Tenn., and her mother, Mrs. B. F.

sonville, Fla. spent the weekend

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bonds spent
the weekend in Brevard, N.C.,
and on Monday they attended the
Apple Festival in Hendersonville,
N.C.
Mrs. Richard Kastory and
daughter, Kelley, have returned
to their home in Winter Park
Florida after a two week visit
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson Dow. The Dows accom
panied them back to Florida for
a weeks visit.
Mrs. Mary D. Lawter visited
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A.
Black last week enroute to
Waynesboro, Va. where she has
accepted the position of Acade
mic Dean at Fairfax Hall. She
was accompanied by her daugh
ter, Miss Mary Cecil Lawter.
LOSES BROTHER
Mrs. W. A. Davis and Mr.
Davis were called to Charleston
on Wednesday due to the death
of Mrs. Davis’ brother, Arthur
G. Foster.
