of Winthrop College.
Mrs. J. F. Jacobs entertained
on Thursday with a delightful
luncheon honoring a number of
girls of the graduating class at
Clinton High School who are
members of the Presbyterian
Church Choir.
Ruth Rumph has teen select
ed editor of The Sentinel, stu
dents high school publication for
the new school year beginning in
September. Ann McMillian will
be the associate editor.
Fifty five graduates received
diplomas as the graduating ex
ercises of Clinton High School
were held last Friday evening in
Florida Street School auditorium
with principal R. P. Wilder pre
siding.

Three Clinton area students
will be among the 160 receiving
their diplomas from Columbia
Commercial College in gradua
tion exercises to be held today,
May 30.
They include Arthur Carroll
Barker of Clinton and Donnie
Eugene Estes and Phillip Jaskin
both of Joanna.
Lt. Governor John C. West
will deliver the commencement
address in the exercises to be
held at the First Baptist Church.
Columbia Commercial College
was founded in 1935 and has teen
in continuous operation since that
time. Charles Gorman is presi
dent of the College which is an
accredited two-year school of
business.

On Saturday afternoon, May
25, Cecil Lee Wooten enjoyed a
party in honor of his 3rd birth
day at the home of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wooten.
Fifteen boys and girls enjoyed
games and refreshments ofkool-
aid, potato chips, cookies, and
ice cream was served.
