McMillian, Sr., are visit ing their son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie McMil lian, ,Ir., and family in Huntsville, Ala., this week. Mrs. Lngene Brown of Mount Pleasant was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Holland. Mrs. Holland returned to Mount Pleasant with her for a tew days, going especially for the graduation of her niece, Miss C.enie Brown. Mrs. Lucy Nabors and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Na bors were called to Charlotte, N. (’., Saturday night due to the illness of their daugher and sister, Mrs. Vida Mae Barnette, who is a patient at Mercy Hos pital there. Ott Thomas is seriously ill at Bailey Memorial 11 ospital. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Wilder of McCormick spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. J. B. Wilder. C. C. Giles is visiting his son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Kugler, at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Ace Workman, Jr., and son, Henry, spent the week-end at Pawley’s Island and Myrtle Beach, going especially for the auditioning of “The Revengers,” local musical group. Their son, Ace., Ill, is a member of the group. Mrs. C. D. Nance and brother, George Mason, have returned to their home on South Woodrow Street from Bailey Memorial Hospital where they have been patients for some time. Mike Norris has completed training at Fort Pope, La., and is spending a leave at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Norris. He will re port to Ft. Penning, Ga., after the leave. Mrs. Olin Bell’s father, J. Carl Scott of Gaffney, died on Sunday. Funeral services were held on T uesday. Phil Rogers, Jr., attended a clinic over the.week- end held by the St. Louis Cardinals in St. Louis. Mrs. George Huguley has undergone surgery at Greenville General Hospital. Arthur Howard is a patient at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. F. Vinton Smith, Jr., of Neptune, N. J., spent sev eral days recentlv with his parents, Lt. Col. and Mrs. F. V. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Chandler spent last week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Gus Travlor at their home at Clark> Hill. Mrs. S. C. Hays, Mrs. Julian Coleman, Mrs. H. R. Brown, accompanied by the former’s sister, Mrs. T. F. Turner, have returned home following a trip to New Or leans, Houston, San Antonio, Texas, where they attended the Hemis Fair. Jane Tinkler Lamm has recently graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in fine arts Her husband, Franklin Lamm, graduated from the Uni versity at Chapel Hill and also received a masters de gree from the same institution. They left Tuesday for Houston, Texas, where they will make their home. Jane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tinkler and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Knox of this city. Mrs. Peck Cornwall spent the week-end of May 2.) in Hartsville to attend final exercises at Coker College where her daughter, Mary Ellen, was a member of the graduating class. Also present at Miss Cornwall’s graduation were Mr. and Mrs. William Brooks Owens of this city. Association convention at Myrti Beach May 19-22. The occasion was also the twentieth reunion of Dr. Walker’s medical class. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McSween and Dick were in Co lumbia Saturday night to see the performance of “The King and I” which was staged by the music department of Columbia College and the Columbia Symphony Or chestra. Miss Lucille McSween was a member of the cast. Mrs. Ervin H. Ford of Avon Park, Fla., is visiting her mother, Mrs. Eugene Hitt. Mrs. J. Boyd Draffin, Jr., of Hudson, N. V., the for mer Frances McKee of Clinton, visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McKee recently. They attended the wedding of Julius Hedden and Elizabeth Neely in Spartanburg Saturday. Julius, a recent graduate of Presbyterian College, is the son of Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Hedden. Mrs. Hedden is the former Jean McKee of (Minton. Frank McKee, student at Erskine, and Julia McKee of Allan ta, Ga., also attended the wedding. , % John Paul McKee recently reported toV San) Diego, Calf., for recruit training with the U. S. Navy! Miss Pat Fryfogle, senior at Emory University, At lanta, was here for the graduation of her sister, Mari lyn, from Clinton High School on Sunday, May 26. Pat will graduate from Emory on June 10.
