Kindergarten Closes School Year May 24 The First Presbyterian Church Week Day Kindergarten will close the school year Friday, May 24. Children who will be attending school next year will be taken on a trip to the school Friday, May 10. On Tuesday evening, May 21, at 6:30, the annual picnic will be held at the church and there will be an open house in the kindergarten rooms after supper. On F riday, May 24, the children will be taken on their annual bus and train ride. Teachers for the past quarter have been director Mrs. Jasper Rowland and Mrs, George Frady. Beginning with the September term, Mrs. Curtis Wallace will be associated with the kindergar ten as a teacher. Mrs. Wallace is a graduate of Winthrop Col lege with a B. S. degree in ele mentary education. Parents wishing to enroll their children in the kindergarten are asked to call Mrs. Rowland or the church office. Children who will be four or five years old on or before Nov. 1 are eligible. Bonds Crossroads News On Saturday, May4, Mrs. Eddie Nabors was honored with a pink and blue shower. Mrs. Alvin Tinsley, Mrs. Robert Tinsley and Miss Mary B. Tinsley en tertained friends of Mrs. Eddie Nabors at the recreation room of Fairview Baptist Church. Fol lowing, contest and games, Mrs. Eddie Nabors was showered with lovely pink and blue gifts. Miss Mony B. Tinsley was honored on F riday evening, May 10, by Mrs. RonaldMcQuirt, Mrs. Wayne McCullough, Mrs. Eddie Nabors and Mrs. Tillman Cropps. On Friday evening a group of friends gathered at the recreation hall to honor Miss Mary B. Tins ley with a miscellaneous shower. The hostesses entertained with a number of bridal games. After refreshments were served the bride elect was showered with a number of lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. James P. John son Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Carrol W. Johnson honoredJlmmyJohn- son on Saturday evening, May 11. with a dinner party at Panaroma Lodge. Those enjoying the occa sion were: Barbara Holly and Travis Crapps, Gladys Lewis and Jimmy Counts, Mr. andMrs. William Johnson of Greenville, Miss Kay Craine and Jimmy Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. James P. Johnson, Jr. Mrs. E. T. Shouse has re turned home after being a pa tient at Union County Hospital. Thursday evening at 4 o'clock the Shady Grove 4H Club will meet at the club house for their spring meeting. Following the meeting a picnic will be given to the members. Ladies of the Home Makers Club will furnish the refreshments for the picnic. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Spivey and family visited Mrs. Spivey’s mother in Gray Court on Sunday.
