Tax Program Work
To Start July 1
Preliminary work for the
tax reassessment and equali
zation program in Laurens
County probably will itet un
derway around July 1.
The Laurens County lettis-
lative delegation has re
quested that the South Caro- ma( |,
lina Tax Commission assist
county officials in setting up
the program.
Rep. David Taylor, secre
tary of the delegation, said
the delegation has been as
sured that the commission
will send personnel to the
county on July 1 to assist in
training people to carry out
the program.
The bill which calls for

Funeral services were con
ducted at Hopewell Methodist
Church with burial in Moun
tain View Cemetery in Sen
eca. Pallbearers were Henry
Chandler, Downs Monroe,
Tom Thompson, Hayne and
Hugh Workman, A A Ram-
age, Dr. Marion Lawson and
W. R. Garrett.
A native of Seneca, Mr.
Dickson had lived in the
Clinton area since 1925 He
made his home on Jacobs
Highway.
He was a son of the late
William Patrick and Louanna
Norris Dickson and was a
graduate of Clemson Univer
sity. He taught school at
Cross Anchor two years and
was a farmer. He was a
member of Hopewell Method
ist Church where he was
acting chairman of the Board
of Stewards, a lay leader,
Sunday School superintend
ent, and teacher of the Men’s
Bible Class.
Mr. Dickson was vice chair
man of the Laurens County
Soil and Water Conservation
District, a member of the
Farm Bureau and financial
chairman of the Laurens
County Republican Party.
Survivors include two sis
ters, Mrs. W. O. (Dorothy)
Whitaker of Costa Mesa.
