Clinton High School opens
ts 1937-68 basketball season
Friday night by playing host
to Gaffney in a tripleheader.
The boys’ junior varsity
3ame will start at 5:30 p. m.
and the girls’ varsitips will
clash at 7 o’clock. The boys’
varsity game will follow the
girls’ game.
Four seniors and a junior
have been named to the Clin-
on varsity boys’ starting
ineup by Coach Herman
ackson.
Ch>ris Adair, a 6-0 guard, is
he Only junior in the starting
ineup.
Seniors are Bobby Rey
nolds, 6-1 center; Ricky
ollis, 5-11 forward; Andy
foung. 5-8 guard; and Gary
’ampbell, 5-11 forward.
All five of the starters were
barters at one time or an-
ither last season.
Gaffney. a class AAA
school, will feature David
Morrof, a 5-11 senior, and
'Tody Sossaman, a 6-3, 200-

Freeman Says South Carolina
Shrine Team Hustles,
Clinton’s Billy Freeman
says South Carolina appar
ently will be well-represented
in Saturday’s Shrine Bowl
game in Charlotte, N. C.
Freeman, a memoer of the
South Carolina team which
faces the best seniors from
North Carplina, said in an in
terview Wednesday morn
ing, “I believe we have 33
good ones. All of them will j
hit. You have to hustle to
keep up. We started out the
first day working as a team.
We aren’t polished yet but
that’s what we ll be working
on the last few days before
the game.’’
Freeman, who played tight
end on offense for Clinton
H’gh, has been switched to
split end for the Shrine
game. He also has been
playing defensive end.
Concerning his own per
formance in the twice-a-day
practices since Monday
Freeman said, “I guess I’rr
about half-pleased with my
showing so far. I hope to dc
better.”
