WILLIAMS Asst. County Agent The 4-H Club work for Lau rens County this year began the first week in October. Many of the schools in the county have in school clubs scheduled to meet once per month for their regular meet ings. There are seven Junior Clubs and two Senior Clubs which are in-school-clubs and ten out-of-school 4-H clubs. New Class las “Western Style Square Dancing “Western Style” square danc ing differs from “Old Style,” or “Hoe Down’’ or “Barn •Dancing,” in that in “Western Style,” the dancer learns spe cific steps rather than patterns, and the caller is free to mix in any steps he wants. ‘Western Style” square danc ing can be learned by attend ing classes with the Laurens “Promen-8’-ers” square dance club (a non-profit organization) in Laurbns at a cost of 50tf per person per lesson. Sport shirts and slack for men, and dresses or skirts and blouses with full skirts, and flat heel shoes for women, are appropriate. A new class will begin Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall in Laurens. Blacks Compete In State Contest Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Black of Clinton were contestants Wednesday in a senior citi zens contest at the South Carolina State Fair. They competed for prizes to be awarded for the couple which had been married the longest. 1 The Blacks have been married 62 years. Their trip was sponsored by the Great er Clinton Chamber of Com merce. Marshall Named 'Co-Op Man Of The Year' GREENVILLE — J. W. (Buck) Marshall, General Manager and Secretary of Marshall Farms Cooperative, was named “Co-op Man of the Year” in District I Tues- ida evening at a dinner meet ing of members of the S. C. Farmers Cooperative Coun cil.
