This Is Good
Time To Get
License Tag /./,
Registration of automobiles,
trucks and other motor ve
hicles is in its fourth week for
the 1968 license year and, as
expected, this is a period of
low activity at the license
windows around the state.
After a busy first week in
which the customary long
lines of license applicants
formed at all license win
dows, applications have dwin
dled to a snail’s pace.
Now is the right time for
all vehicle owners to visit the
Highway Department’s 48 li
censing offices around the
state and secure license plates
without having to wait out a
line.
Each October, ’beginning
shortly after the middle of the
month, lines begin building
up again to a grand climax at
the Oct. 31 deadline. It is on
the final day that applicants
punish themselves by swarm
ing to the windows en mass,
seemingly enjoying the pun
ishment they bring on them
selves.
