was Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1:00

ing.

The hostesses presented Mr.

Johnson Is Entered
At Air Force Acodemy
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. —
Thomas G. Johnson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. John
son of Clinton, S. C., was
among more than 1,000 fresh
men cadets who have entered
the U. S. Air Force Academy
class of 1971.
Cadet Johnson’s acceptance
into the cadet wing marked
his successful completion of
cadet basic training, which
began in June.

B&PW Club Hold
Dinner Meeting
i Tuesday evening, Sept. 12,
the B & PW^ Club held the
September dinner meeting in
the gold room of the Mary
Musgrove Hotel with the pres
ident, Mrs. Robert Johnson,
presiding. The meeting was
especially planned to welcome
three new members: Mrs.
Kathleen C. Crag, Mrs. Hilda
Tollison and Mrs. Linda Wil
liams.
Chairmen of the various
committees told of the work
and aims of the club.
Mrs. M. C. Poole, member
ship chairman and leader of
the evening program, men
tioned that the national organ
ization was established in
1919 in St. Louis and spoke of
its continued growth. On a
table adorned with candles,
she lighted one for the federa
tion, then two charter mem
bers of the Clinton club, Mrs.
Dell Crews and Mrs. W. W.
Harris, were recognized and
lighted candles from the na
tional candle. Mrs. R. C.
Stewart, also a charter mem
ber, was unable to attend.
Mrs. Johnson, president,
two past presidents, Mrs.
Grace Conners and Mrs. P.
M. Pitts, and the three new
members lighted candles in
the impressive program.

SC B & PM, was present and
invited the club to attend the
district meeting in Laurens,
October 9, also the S. C.
Board Meeting in Camden, on
Sept. 29-30.

Revival Scheduled
The Lydia Presbyterian
Church will hold a revival
Oct. 1-5 at 7:30 each evening.
The Rev. Alfred L. Bixler will
be the guest preacher. The
