Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ander son have returned from a vis it to Mr. and Mrs. George Everett in Thomasville, Ga., and Misses Mary Lou and Patti Britt in Tifton, Ga. Chuck Waldron and Tom my Holley are spending two weeks at Camp Greenville, Cedar Mountain, N. C. Dr. and Mrs. Marshall Brown were guests of the 'S. C. Broadcasters Association this week at Myrtle Beach at a banquet Monday night. Dr. Brown, an honorary member of the association, presented two college scholarships giv en by the broadcasters for radio and TV study in a new ly opened department at Uni versity of South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Evans, David and Carol of Steuben ville, Ohio have been visit ing Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Mc Kee and Mrs. Alma McKee. Mrs. Evans is the former Katherine McKee. Last week Dr. and Mrs. Marshall Brown returned from a 22 day trip to Austria, Scandinavia and Ireland. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hol land were in Columbia on Monday and Tuesday, visit ing their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Smith and sons. On last Friday Mrs. Smith and Ronnie were guests here of the Hollands. Julia McKee of Atlanta spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. MeKee. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Dixon are spending this week vaca tioning at Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Miss Dorothy Taylor has returned from a visit with Col. and Mrs. Arthur Katz- burg in Norfolk, Va:' Mrs. M. W. Culp of Colum bia is visiting her sister, Mrs. G. W. Bell and Mr. Bell. Mrs. Jim McDonald left Friday for Anderson where she will make her home. Mr. McDonald who passed away in March was superintendent of the Print Shop at Thorn- well. Poole last week were Mark and Leslie Poole of Spartanburg. They are the children of Dr. and Mrs. Mack Poole of Spartanburg. Beth and Branpon Godfrey, also grandchildren of Mrs. Poole and children of Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Godfrey of For est City, N. C. came on Thursday, spending the week end. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey came for a visit and to take them home. Miss Ginger Brown, daugh ter pf Mrs. Eugene Brown of Charleston has been spending the week with her aunt, Mrs. C. A. Nancy Hollis who is attend ing the summer session of Converse College was home for the weekend. CONTEST WINNER Mrs. Evelyn Birchmore of Rt. 3, Clinton was among the fifth place winners in the Fa mily Fun Contest recently held by the Greenville News- Piedmont Co. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Hollis are attending the con vention of the Motor Trans portation Assoc., of South Ca rolina at Myrtle Beach this weekend. Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Dawson leave today for a ten-day va cation stay in Canada and Expo 67. Mrs. R. C. Steward is ill and a patient at Bailey Me morial Hospital. Mabry McCrary is a medi cal patient at Bailey Memor ial Hospital. Mrs. Heyward Nettles and children who have been mak ing their home in Denver, Colo, are spending the sum mer with her parents, Col. and Mrs. A. J. Thackston. She was accompanied here by Miss Mary Nettles who had been visiting them. Dr. Net tles who has been at Fitz simmons General Hospital the past year is now at camp for the summer in Texas. In September he will go to Wal ter Reed hospital near Wash ington, D. C., where he will serve his residency, special izing in pediatrics for the next three years. His family will join him then. Mrs. J. R. Hamrick is a pa tient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. Max Duckett and sons Mackie and Brian visited in Florida this past week, touring St. Augustine and other ponts of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaff ney spent the past week in Florida visiting in Daytona Beach, St. Augustine and Jacksonville. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Camp bell and son Ricky spent a week in Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss. While there they at tended the “Hippies Love-In’’ in New Orleans. Leonard and children, Darrell and Be linda are spending this week in White Lake, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Free- strom spent last week in Charleston with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Shorter and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Shorter. While there they were Joined by Mr. and Mrs. J. iL Joiner and son, Mike, of Des Moines, Iowa, who accompanied them to Myrtle Beach for a few days.
