Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pass- more began their vacation on June 20 by motoring to Atlan ta, Ga., spending a few days with their daughter, Delores, who is employed by the state and also attends night school in which she is talcing a sec retarial course. From there they went to Huntsville, Ala., to stay several days with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pass- more, and Scott. On their re turn trip they again stopped in Atlanta to take in some of the baseball games. On Sunday, June 18, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hogan and sons, Jeff and Gene, motored to Hickory, N. C., to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. James Bowman and family. They also visited Fred Buff in Morganton, Nw C. Mr. and Mrs. Roland God frey spent the wedk-end 1 of 4une 11 in Hartsiville with their daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wright, Bobby and Sharon. Mrs. Wright and children re turned with them for a week’s visit. While here Bobby and Sharon attended Bible school at Epworth Methodist Church. Mr. Wright came to Joanna on Saturday to accompany them home. Darren Sineath enjoyed sev eral days visit in Bamberg with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Warren and Sharon recently. They accompanied him home to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sineath, last week-end. Sharon remained for the week. The Sineaths carried her home over the week-end and visited Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Troupe, who also reside in Bamberg. Mrs. Houston May spent a few days recently with her daughter and sin-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Murrah and infant daughter, Tara Deane, in Simpsonville. , FLOYD IN NEWFOUNDLAND On June 7, Leonard Floyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Beck- om had as their guests last Saturday through Tuesday, Mrs. Johnny Barton, and Da vid of Anderson. Vicki Boyd of Columbia, was at home over the week end-with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Boyd. Miss Joyce Smith enjoyed the week-end in Greeville with friends. Friends will be interested to know. Ervin Norris, who has been a patient at Bailey Me morial Hospital and the Vet erans Hospital in Columbia for the past eight weeks, is recuperating at his home on Tillman Circle. He returned home on Friday. Recent visi tors of Mr. and Mrs. Norris were Mrs. Mertie Walker of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Willie Green and Janice of Largo, Fla. IN HOSPITAL . Mrs. Rimer .Bennet has been in Bailey Memorial hos pital several days.. RETURN FROM CANADA Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phil lips returned over the week end after a two weeks motor trip to Montreal, Canada, go ing especially for Expo ’67. After several days there they returned by way of Niagara Falls and Neffs* Ohio, and enjoyed a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. George ^ratt. They then stopped for a day in Powhatan, Va., with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dean and family. MRS WILLINGHAM • ENTERTAINS Mrs. Belle Willingham had as week-end guests Mr. and Mrs. Otis Murphy of Ruther- fordton, N. C., Mr. and Mrs: Harold Forman and Craig of Los Angeles, Calif. Sunday dinner guests also included Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tur ner, Yvonne and Ricky, of Augusta, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Willingham, Becky, Tommy and Johnny, and a friend of the latter, Wally West of Wilmington, N. C. BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES Belated birthday greetings go to Ervin Norris, who ob served a birthday June 26. Happy Birthday today, June 29, to M. ' A. Social Security An Eastern Kentucky at torney was convicted and fin ed $2000 for charging exces sive fees in representing tour disabled social s e c u r it y cla’mants. The attorney was fined on four counts of $500 each for over-charging dis abled claimants in appeal ac- torneys who represent social security claimants. These reg ulations were established to adequately compensate the attorney and yet protect the claimant from excessive charges which take away Federal regulations govern the charging of fees for at- from the benefit the measure of security designed to help the older people, the disabled and widows and children.
