Mrs. Mellie McKinney at

A week in Miami, Fla., was
enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs.
Huey Harper, Carol, Kone,
Karen and Edwin. They visit
ed Miami Seaquarium, Par
rott Jungle and other inter
esting' points.
Mrs. Bessie Hamm visited
Rev. Horace Hamm and fam
ily in Knoxville, Tenn., last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wyatte
and granddaughter, Nancy,
of $reenville, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Harold M. Rhodes last
weak.
Mrs. Josephine Clark and
Mrs. Virginia Burns were
visitors in Greenville Mon
day.

A group of Whitten Village
campus girls went on a 3-day
camping and picnic trip at
Lake Greenwood recently.

ment, and Mrs. Ruth Rhodes,

Mrs- Margaret Lockett, who
underwent surgery last week
at Self Memorial Hospital in
Greenwood, is recuperating
at the home of her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
J. A. Price in Spartanburg.
Miss Laura Finley remains
a patient at Self Memorial
Hospital in Greenwood. Her
room number is 303.
Mrs. Renie Setzer, accom
panied by her sister, Mrs.
Ruth Black, of Chester, spent
the past week-end with her
niece, Mrs. Billy Grigsly, and
family in Fountain Inn.
Mrs. Charles F. Piper of
Oak Ridge, Tenn., visited her
sister, Mrs. Mary Corbett,
and other relatives during ttie

Dick Hudson To ‘
Speak Sunday At
Church In Laurens
On Sunday evening, June
25, at 8 o’clock, Lucas Ave.
Baptist Church, Laurens, will
have as guest speaker Dick
Hudson, professional football
player with the Buffalo Bills.
During his brief visit to
South Carolina, Mr. Hudson
will speak twice in Columbia
in addition to the service at
Lucas Avenue.
Dick Hudson is right offen
sive tackle with the Buffalo
Bills and has completed his
fourth year with the team. He
is considered one of pro foot
ball’s finest pass protection
,blockers.
He is a graduate of Mem
phis State University and has
been working on his Master’s
degree in the off-season.
This family man with two
sons is a native of Paris,
Tenn., but now makes his
home in Memphis during the
off-season. While in Mem
phis he and his family are
members of the Southern
Avenue Baptist Church. Dur
ing the pro season they are
active members of the First
Baptist Church, Orchard
Park, N. Y., a Southern Bap
tist Church.
He is widely used in the
Frontier Association as a lay
speaker in the churches and
in youth and associational
. meetings.

The fourth Sunday gospel
singing will be held at Sacred
Acres (located on the Ware
Shoals - Waterloo highway)

Henry F. Quinn
Henry F. Quinn, 56, of Rt.
2, Copeland Road, died Mon
day at 1:40 a m. at the Co
lumbia Veteran’s Hospital af
ter a two week illness.
Native of Spartanburg Coun
ty, son of the late Paul and
Dolly Dillard Quinn, he at
tended the Church of God of
Prophecy, was a veteran of
World War II and lived in
Clintop for 24 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Jewel Smith Quinn; three
sons, Bobby and Ronnie Quinn
of Clinton and Burnett Quinn
of Detroit, Mich.; four sis
ters, Mrs. Willie (Nettie) Car-
roll of Clinton, Mrs. James
(Nellie) Bryan and Mrs. De-
veale (Frances) Mone of Pac-
olet and Mrs. Cecil (Peggy)
Fowler of Charleston; a bro
ther, John Quinn of Pqcolet.
Funeral services were con
ducted Tuesday at 5 p.m. at
Lydia Pentecostal" Holiness
Church by Rev. Roscoe Bryan,
Rev. Roy Russ and Rev.
Frank Phillips- Burial was in
Rosemont Cemetery.

At Fort Bragg

US Army’s 1967 ROTC Sum
mer Camp to be conducted at
Fort Bragg, N. C., June 24-
August 4.
The six - week training per
iod for advanced ROTC stu
dents, normally taken the
summer after the junior year
in college, is a required part
pf ihe ROTC program which
leads to commissions in the
Officers’ Reserve Corps.
