Billy Nelson Signs
Professional Contract
Former University of South
Carolina football lineman Bil
ly Nelson has signed a profes
sional football contract with
the St. Louis Cardinals of the
National Football League.
Nfilson, a three-year letter-
man with the Gamecocks will
report to the Cardinal pre-sea
son training camp at Chicago
July 12. The 6-3, 230-pound
> former Clinton High star play-
fcd both tackle and guard with
the Gamecocks and is expect
ed to be given a trial as an
offensive lineman with the
professional team.
