SELECTING CHAIRS FOR
YOUR LIVING ROOM
Many people select chairs
because they are lovely to
look at. Others select chairs
strictly for comfort. The
smart buyer
buys chairs
that com
bine both
beauty and
comfort.
This is not
as simple as
it sounds.
Usually,
the wife will
select chairs
for design,
co-ordination
with everything else in the
room. The husband will
want chairs that he can
sink into, stretch his legs
out on.
Fortunately, the average
living room has room f r
several chairs that can
please all parties concern
ed. Just like a suit of
clothes or a dress, a chair
can “fit” the person who is
going to use it. That’s p
good thing to keep in mind
when you buy chairs.
Very often chairs are
nice when used in match
ing pairs. This is not only
a matter of attractive de
cor, but has its practical
side, too, in making con
versation groups. Many
people are more at ease
talking to each other while
sitting in separate ohairs
than they are when sitting
together on a sofa.
One of the attractive
ways to group a pair of
chairs is to use a wedge
or pie-shaped table between
them. This makes for a
curved grouping instead of
lining up the two chairs
and the table straight
against the walk
We invite you to see our
