We Salute the Jaycees Their Thoughtful Concern and Forward Looking Action Has Made Our Community a Better Place in Which to Live ' • ‘ • • » i » . . * \ . 1 The Clinton Jaycees is a civic organization working for community betterment an$ open to all young men 21 through 35 years of age. Chartered In April of 1956, the' Clinton Jaycees have been active in the community and state. t $ t ’ Some of their projects the past year have been assisting in South Carolina Jaycee Football Classic. They participated in tha classic by selling tickets and send ing 3 members to work during the game. Proceeds were give^ to mental health Association. The Jaycees helped to set up booths at the annual PTA Halloween Carnival and also at the Laurens County Fear. Proceeds from the fair booth were used for Community Development Projects. Their annual Christmas Shopping Tour for underprivileged children in the Clinton area was most successful with over SSOOrcdsedlorthe project 65 children were taken on a shopping tour.' ’ ' I ^ ' Looking into the future is an aim of the Clinton Jaycees. They have completed an initial survey in a project of getting a YMCA in the city. Wed., Jan. 18,1967, the In-' ter-State YMCA Secretary and his associates will be in Clinton to interview citi zens in the area..
