Two attorneys from Laurens
County are candidates for the
judgeship being vacated in
February by the retirement of
Judge Steve C. Griffith of
Newberry of the Eighth Ju
dicial Circuit.
One is a member of the
House ol v Representatives and
the other a former member.

crombie. both of Laurens.
Culbertson, native of Clin
ton, is a newly elected mem
ber of the House, but served
a term several years ago.
Abercrombie, former ^House
member, was defeated in the
primary in his race for the

7:30 o’clock in Belk Audi
torium on the Presbyterian
College campus.
Every seat in this L200-
capacity auditorium is ex
pected to be taken nightly for
this program sponsored by the
religious and civic leaders of
Laurens County. There* is no
charge, and everyone is r urged
to attend.
Special emphasis will be
given to young people through
