Mrs. Creighton read the
“Visit of the Shepherds” from
the gospel of St. Luke, follow
ed with a film strip based on
the scripture. Mrs Creighton
closed the progran. with the
reading of a poem. “Keeping
Christmas” and followed by
prayer.
Russian tea with nuts and
cookies was served from a

ment of red carnations, and
holly and flanked by red tap

of the Mary Musgrove Hotel

first Cotillion Club Debutante
Ball which is to take place

At the luncheon Saturday, a

out in the table decorations

made of flowers and net in a
holiday theme.

the late Mr. Davis. She was

brother-in-law, Jerry Elmore.
Her wedding gown was de
signed of candlelight satin
with scalloped neckline out
lined with gros de londre lace.
The lace was also used in
motifs on the bell - shaped
skirt. Her Watteau train was
chapel-length with twin pan
els of lace and bows. Her
matching fingertip mantilla
veil was bordered in alencon
lace. She carried a white Bi
ble with an orchid encircled
with carnations.
William Sumerel of Ayr

necklines and short sleeves.
A velvet bow held the wind
swept back panels of crepe
which formed a short train.
Their headpieces were double
bows of moss green velvet.
They carried cascades of an
tiqued gold mums.
Miss Emily Reeves of Vero
Beach, Florida was flower
girl. Her dress was of floor-
length candlelight crepe with
empire waist accented with
a green velvet ribbon.
The bride is a 1964 graduate
of Laurens High School and
is a teller at Laurens Federal
Savings and Loan Association.
The groom also a graduate of
Laurens High, is a 1966 gradu
ate of United Electronics La
boratories in Charleston.
Following a wedding trip
they will make their home in
Laurens.
Among out-of-town guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Lynne
Cooper Jr. and Mr. and Mrs.

On Friday, December 9,
Mrs. Alexander B. Stump
complimented the bride-elect
with a buffet luncheon at her
home on Calhoun Street.
Luncheon was served buffet
style from a beautifully ap
pointed table using a Christ
mas red and green motif. Cov
ers were laid for twelve
guests.
Miss Jacobs was remem
bered with a wedding gift.
Rehearsal Party
Immediately following the
wedding rehearsal at the
First Presbyterian Church
on Friday evening, the
groom’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Veneklasen entertained
the wedding party and out-of-
town guests with a dinner par
ty at the Hotel Mary Mus
grove. Covers were laid for
thirty at a table centered with
a silver candelbra and sever
al floral arrangements.
Bridesmaids Luncheon
On Saturday, December 10,
at one o'clock, Mrs. J. Dillard
Jacobs complimented the
bride, her wedding attendants
and out-of-town guests, with
a luncheon at the Wilson home
on Ansel Drive.
Upon arrival guests were
served fruit juice after which
they were invited into the din
ing room where the luncheon
table was arranged. Red
roses lit a silver epergne cen
tered the buffet table. The
honoree was presented a gift
of silver from the hostess.
Also at this time the bride-
elect remembered her atten
dants with a gift.
Bachelor Luncheon
On Saturday at two o’clock
Mr. Veneklasen complimented
his wedding attendants and
out-of-town guests with lunch
at the Mary Musgrove Hotel.
He presented his groomsmen
with a gift, at this titne.
