Stewart, returned in June fol
lowing a year's tour of duty
as Operations Officer. Avia
tion Division of J-3, MAC-V,
in the Republic of South Viet
nam. While in the Asiatic Re
public. Col. Moran flew more
than 150 combat hours and
has amassed well over 3.000
total flying hours as an Armv
aviator. He attended the In
fantry Officer's Advanced
Course at Fort Benning. Ga.,
in 1958 and the Army Com
mand and General Staff
School at Fort Leavenworth,
Kansas, in 1964.
Among his decorations are
the Bronae Star Medal. Army
Commendation Medal with
Oak Leaf Cluster, World War
II Victory Medal, and the Ko
rean Service Medal. He is a
senior Army aviator and has
been awarded wings of that
order.
While Lt. Col. Moran serv
ed in Vietnam, Mrs Moran
and her four children lived ip
Cluitqn on Lakewobd Drive.
She was a registered nurae at
Bailey Memorial Hospital
She is the former Jean King,
daughter of Mr«. George N
King. Sr., and the late Mr.
King.

Dr. Rhyne spent the great
er part of his ministry as the
Executive Secretary of the
Board of Parish Education
and its predecessors. *
A native of North Carolina.
Dr. Rhyne graduated from
Roanoke College and the
Southern Lutheran Theologi
cal Seminary in Columbia.
His doctor’s degrees are from
Roanoke and Lenoir Rhyne.
Having retired a few years
ago. Dr. and Mrs. Rhyne
make t-heir home in Qemson.
Dr. Keisler will take his
confirmation class next week
end to Savannah and espec
ially to the historic old Jeru
salem Church near Rincon,
Ga. He will conduct a Holy
Communion service in that
church on Sunday. This was
the main congregation in Dr.
Keizer’s first parish of three
congregations.

Bill L. Smith, 79, of. 808
Musgrove St, died Friday at
10 a m. at Bailey Memorial
Hospital after six years of de
clining health.
A native of Saluda County,
son of the late John Oliver
and Magige Butler Smith, he
had lived In Clinton 12 years
and was a member of the
First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Ida Butler Smith, two daugh
ters Mrs. Harwood (Mae)

Horace (Ruth) Geer of Val
