she had lived here 37 years.
Daughter of the late Andrew
and Sara Clark, she was a
member of Davidson Street
Baptist Church.
Her husband, Henry R.
Smith, died in 1946.

ters, Mrs. Geneva Lowery of
Clinton, Mrs. Milliard (Irene)
Price of Clinton and Mrs. For
rest (Ruby) McIntosh of Nine
ty Six; one son, Paul J. Smith
of Clinton; nine grandchild
ren and nine great-grandchild
ren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Sunday at 4p.m. at Da
vidson Street Baptist Church
by Rev. Floyd Hellams and
Rev. J. W. Spiders. Burial
was in Rosemont Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Louis
Webb, Brevard Patterson,
George Price, Jack Rhodes,
Albert Odum and Dan Duna

rens St., wife of L. E. Prater,
died at 9 p.m. Saturday at a
Clinton hospital after a sud
den illness of one day.
A native of Lexington Coun
ty, she had lived in Joanna
42 years, and was a daughter
of the late Benjamin and Em
mie Lindler Rikard and a
member of the Epworth Me
thodist Church and of the Jo
anna Old Timers Club.
Surviving in addition to her
husband are two daughters.
Mrs. Jack (Marie) Roebuck
and Mrs. Louie (Betty' Na
bors, four sons, Rudy, Ralph
(Snow), Guy and Hack Prater
of Joanna; a brother, Odell
Rikard of Johnston; and 12
grandchildren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Monday at 3:30 p.m.
at the Epworth Methodist
Church by Rev. Ross Pickett
and Dr. L. Byron Harbin. Bur
ial was in Rosemont Ceme
tery in Clinton.
