Woodruff was called to Columbia Saturday due to death of her infant granddaughter. Services were held Sunday at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery near Lexington. The infant was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald C. Woodruff of Columbia. Local students and adults who will resume studies dur ing the summer months at Winthrop College in Rock Hill are Miss Judy, King, Mrs. Chris Adair, Mrs. Richard Buford and Mrs. Milton Moore. Captain and Mrs. Robert Howe are visiting this week in Rock Hill with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howe. RETURNED FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Rembert Tru- luck have returned from a week’s visit to Tyler, Texas, to visit their daughter and son-in-law, ^the Rev. and Mrs. Monty Cook and grandchild ren, Forrest and Daniel. While away they visietd points of interest in Vicksburg, Miss., and Birmingham, Alabama. This weekend Mr. and Mrs. Truluck will visit in McCor mick, going especially to at tend the wedding of Miss Kel lie J^an Scruggs, niece of Mrs. Truluck. Cljntonians attending the Shriners Convention at Myr tle Beach on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. George Reid, Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge San ders, Mr. and Mrs. William Weir, Claude Lawson, and Sandy Garner. The conven tion included all four tem ples. of the North and South Carolina, and was held at the Pavilion on the beach. Mrs. Edwin Stewart of New Kork, visited relatives in the city last week, coming especially to accompany her daughter, a freshman at Presbyterian College, home. Mr. and Mrs. George Reid and son, Al, spent the week end at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Sey mour and children spent the week-end in Bowman, Ga., with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Seymour and Mr. and Mrs. Haley Brown. Mrs. Milford Smith and children visited in Blacks burg during the week-end with Mrs. Smith’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones. MOVE TO TENN. Mrs. Jimmy Stilwell and daughters left Sautrday to join Mr. Stilwell in Tazewell, Tenn., where they will make their home. They were for mer residents of Hickory Street. Mountville News MRS. LeGRAND BOUKNIGHT Bouknight Named Assistant Overseer At Joanna Plant LeGrand Bouknight, Rt. 3, Newberry, has been promoted to assistant overseer of weav ing, first shift, in the Joanna plant of Greenwood Mills. Bouknight has been employ ed by Greenwood Mills and Joanna Cotton Mill since 1947. He began work in Joanna as an hour hand, became a smash hand and was promot- eid to loom fixer in 1956. He and his family attend the —Bush River Baptist church, where he is a mem ber of the choir and president of a Sunday School class. His hobbies include fishing and raisifig beef cattle. NED A.
