The wedding is planned, for August 19th. Miss Fraser graduated from Clinton High School and attended. Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. She is now a student at Presbyterian College. Mr. Wells, a graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston- Salem, is also a student at Presbyterian College. Methodist Group Enjoys Tacky Party Members of the Susannah I; Weslpy.Class of Broad Street I Methodist Church entertained . with a “Tacky” party Friday evening at the home of Mrs. G. W. Bell on Young Drive. Arrangements of roses and peonies were used in the liv ing and dining roorns and en trance hall. Mrs. J. B. Wilder was in charge of the entertainment | • and Mrs. Nene Workman, en tertained the group in ,song. Prize for the “tackiest” went to Mrs. V. E. Simmons. Sherrill was hostess to members of her bridge club Thursday after noon at her home on Chestnut Street. Two tables were in play, with score prizes being award ed Mrs. Ben H. Hammet and Mrs. Marvin G. Gault at the end of several progressions. A dessert course was served before the games. The hosts remembered the couple with a corsage an d boutonniere, a silver bowl, salt and pepper shakets. McSween Pupils In Recital Tomorrow Pupils of Mrs. Harry Y. Mc Sween will be presented in a piano recital Friday night at 8 o’clock at Friendship Hall, First Presbyterian Church. The public is invited. Dance Recital Friday Night Students of the La Bruce Heist School of Dancing will be presented in their spring Whitten Village School. Joe Shay will accompany the dancers. A small admis sion will be charged, and the public is invited. Miss Sumerel Presents Pupils Ten piano pupils of Miss Maude Sumerel were pre sented in recital Friday eve ning at the First Baptist Church. Pianists participating in cluded Nancy Dendy, Jenny Todd, Ann Buridrick, Jane Yarbrough, Patti Plowden, Diane King, Jenny Edwards, Crystal Stilwell, Steve Bish op, and Tony Bishop. Miss Sumerel was assisted in serving refreshments by Miss Ruth Bailey, Miss Ag nes Davis, Mrs. Hugh Ray, and Mrs. John Roseboro. Bank Of Clinton* Honors Clinton High Seniors Following graduation Mon day evening, the graduating class of Clinton High School was honored with a drop-in at Lakeside Country Club by the directors and officials of the Bank of Clinton. Mrs. Shirley Timmons of the High Schol faculty introduced the members and their dates as they arrived to the receiv ing. line composed of the di rectors, bank officials and their wives, which included Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Ha mer, Mr. and Mrs. Heath Copeland, Mr. and Mrs. Tho mas E. Addison, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Y. McSween. Colorful balloons floated ov erhead and the tables, cen tered with roses were overlaid with pastel stripe cloths. The dining table held an arrange ment of roses and silver can- dleabra. Punch was served by Mrs. John T. Young and dainty re freshments of sandwiches, nuts, tarts, and cheese straws were served.
