J. W. Davis, student at the
University of South Carolina,
Columbia, has been released
from the University infirm
ary where he was a patient
following minor injuries re
ceived Saturday when hit by
an auto while crossing a road.
Davis, accompanied by Miss
Diane Ledford, student at Co
lumbia College, was struck
when returning to their car.
He pushed Miss Ledford out
of the path of the car and
she was not injured.

rens, long-time sheriff of
Laurens County, and former
resident of this city, is a pa
tient at the Laurens County
hospital following a heart at
tack early last week.
Dr. and Mrs. A. R. Romans
of Baton, Rouge, La., have
been visiting her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Allen Barron in Jo
anna.

end they will visit at Paw

employed at Duke Universi

guest at their cottage on Lake
Greenwood.

rived last week to spend the
summer months with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mul
ler, having completed stud
ies at Anderson Junior Col
lege.
Mr. and Mrs. James W.
Sease of Columbus, Ga., are
spending several weeks here
with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. James Flewellen and
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell,
Mr. Sease has recently re
ceived his discharge after two
years of service.
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Tankers-
ley visited over the week-end
with the latter’s mother, Mrs.
J. W. Bobo, Sr., in Washing
ton, Ga. While there they at
tended the horse show on Sat
urday afternoon and evening.
Loses Sister
Mr. and Mrs. Perry Moore
were called to York, Wednes
day, due to the sudden death
of Mr. Moore’s sister, Miss
Lena Bess Moore of York
and Rock Hill. Funeral ser
vices were incomplete at this
time. Miss Mooore, who for
merly made her home here
with her brother and sister-
in-law, has many friends in
the city.
Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bob
by Sanders difring the week
end was their daughter-in-
law, Mrs. Marvin Sanders of
Va. Beach, Va. Also while
here she visited her sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Cleaver in Elberton,
Ga. Last weekend Mr. and
Mrs. Sanders visited their
daughter, Miss Carol Sand
ers, at Furman University
where she is convalescing
from a broken foot.

day for a tour of the British
Isles and Ireland.
