Cduncil accepted the offer of the Bank of,Clinton to use property recently purchased by the bank and now used as a mobile home lot. J. Robert (5ox and W. C. Baldwin, representatives of the Merchants Division of the Chamber of Commerce, ap peared before Council and stated , that the bank would provide the area for parking if the city would maintain it. Brig. Gen. B. F. Wingard Lutheran Building Retires From SCNG Roll Fund Is Growing Since January 1 of this year To Attend Washinton Meet South Carolina Assistant Adjutant General, Barringer F. Wingard, who has been promoted to Brigadier Gen eral upon his retiremenC from active Army National Guard status, the Adjutant General’s office has announc ed. General Wingard has been placed upon the retired list of the South Carolina Na tional Guard but will contin ue to serve in his present position. The veteran of nearly 38 years of military service be gan his career in May, 1928, the Building Fund of St. John’s Lutheran Church has increased more than $13,000, according to announcement by Dr. E. B. Keisler, interim pastor., It will be recalled that last fall the congregation conduct ed a campaign for pledges to total a minimum of $10,000 during the present year.
