history and direction for mak

geraniums.

Jiinior-Senior Prom
“The Magic Lamp” was the
theme carried out this year
at' the annual Clinton High
School Junior - Senior Prom.
The special occasion was held
in the school gymnasium from
8 to 11 o(Clock, last Friday
evening. -J
The color scheme of purple,
violet, and gold was perfected
in decorating the ballroom
with streamers of crepe tis
sue suspended from the ceil
ing and across each of the
side walls. Centering the
floor was a huge gold lamp
topped with the magic genie.

drapes of sh^er white mater
ials.
County School superinte-
dent, R. ‘P. Wilder, gave the
invocation. • Entertainment
was provided by members of
the junibf* class. Mistress of
ceremonies was Miss Kayran
Cox. Henry Adair extended
the welcome with Tom Bald
win responding.
Dancing was enjoyed to the
music of the Shadows of Char
lotte, N. C.

and Mrs. Ray Pitts and Mr.
and Mrs. Sandy Templeton.
The guests were invited in
to the den for punch upon ar
rival and a corsage of pink
Sweetheart roses was presen
ted the honoree.
Dinner was served buffet
style from the lace-covered
dining table which was cen
tered with an epergne of
vjtfute Gaza pompons, gyp-
sophilia, and pink Friendship
glads flanked by pale pink
tapers in silver candeFabra,
and lacy wedding bells.
Places for twenty were ar
ranged sit a long table on the
sun porch. The honor guests
places were marked with; a
miniature bride and groom
• with dainty bridal place cards
denoting the places of the oth
er guests. An arrangement of
Gaza pompons, white glads,
and pink carnatons was used
along with pink tapers in sil
ver -candle holders.-
The brieja] couple was pre
sented a piece of silver in
their chosen pattern.

well High School Friday even
ing was the Junior - Senior
Prom. The occasion, staged
by members of the junior
class, was held in the Hart-
ness Gymnasium beginning
at eight o’clock.
A formal reception began
the festivities followed with
dancing to the music of the
Charms from Clinton.
The theme, “Singing In The
Rain”, was carried out in de
corating the ballroom area.
Pink streamers were used to
each of the sides with blue
streamers suspended from the
ceiling. Umbrellas with light
ed candles centered each of
the individual tables arrang
ed around the room. Gracing
the refreshment table was an
arrangement of. snapdragons
and daisies in the same, color
note.

Final Danlce of
Cotillion Club
A nautical theme formed
the setting for the final dance
of the season for memhers of
the Clinton Cotillion Club and
guests Saturday night at the
Hotel Mary Musgrove.
From the “gangplank” en
trance, the decor carried out
the sailing theme with port
holes, wheels, sailors and
sails on the ballroom walls,
flags fluttering overhead, and
tables centered by lamps
draped with fishnet and sea-
shells.
Music was by Harry Bouk-
night and his orchestra for
the dancing from 8 o’clock
until midnight, followed by a
buffet>l^g^fast.
Members and guests of the
club were greeted by Mrs.
James L. Walker, president.
Other officers for last year
included J. F. Jacobs, Jr.,
vice-president, Mrs. Francis
Blalock, secretary, and Mrs.
Ed King, treasurer.
The dance committee ’ for
the 1965-66 season was com
posed of the following mem
bers: Miss Kathryn Dicus,
