Mrs. Andy Hames, Mr. and Mrs. Tommie lust! visited Mrs. Lowrance Peace, a patient in the Greenville General hospital, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Boozer were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Warren in Newberry. Pfc. Jim Blackwell has re turned to duty in Viet Nam af ter being wounded and a pa tient in Tribel hospital in Ha waii. Jim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blackwell. Mrs. Jack Laney and chil dren of Saluda, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Laney. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Wells and sons visited Mr. Wells* parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wells, in Rock Hill last week. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Sanders and family toured the moun tains of North Carolina recent- iy. Mrs. Lidie Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simmons and Mrs. Mary Power attended the fun eral of Mrs. James Owens in Gastonia, N. The slightly oiled surface will defy any attempts ,to scratch match es. Question—How can I ren der fat? - Answer — Cut it into small pieces, or run through the food chopper. Then melt it in the up per part of your double boiler, and follow by straining through cheesecloth laid in a wire strainer. Question—How can I repair cracks in my laundry tubs? Answer — A litharge-glycerin paste usually proves effective for this. Make this paste by mixing enough glycerin with a quantity of litharge so that it can be applied as a plastic ce ment. Question—How can I keep my vacuum cleaner in good condition? Answer—Keep the motor oil ed according to the manuafc- turer’s directions, clean the brush regurarly, and often, empty the bag after each us ing, turn off the motor imme diately when you are not ac tually workng—and the life of your vacuum cleaner should be lengthened. Question — What can I do about honey that has become grainy? Answer—Set the container in a sauce pan of hot water, with a couple of sticks of wood un der the container to keep the water circulating under it, and let it stand for several hours. Keep the water hot, but not boiling, and the honey should return to normal. Question—How can I re move spilled fingernail polish from nigs or clothing? Answer — Use amylacetate (banan oil), available in drug stores.' Commrecial polish re movers may dissolve the syn thetics commonly used today in such materials. Question — What can be done about white furs that have yellowed? Answer — Often this can be ovrecome by spraying with a solution of hydrogen peroxide or by brushing with a soft brush. And sometimes hanging the fur in the sun afterward will speed up the re-bleaching process. Question — How can I pre vent chromium from rusting? Answer — Chromium itself is rust-proof. In Isaiah we hear a trumpet call: “Arise shine.” This is a great time for the church to heed this call for revival, for resurgence of faith vital for all mankind’s highest and best interests. PRAYER O Lord, let Thy light shine and Thy glory come into Thy church. May it awaken from its lethargy, and from the enveloping darkness come into Thy light. Grant us Thy grace and power that we may be able to make Thy church the source of peace in the world of war and strife. Pressly, social se curity district manager in Green wood, said today. “Thera is one probleA that concerns us,”_, JR] s.s Pressly stated, “and we are asking the public to help. This is: how to get in touch with persons 65 or over who do not receive social security or railroad retirement benefits.
