A -win would give the PC squad, a 6-3 record with Newberry re maining on the schedule. The Blue Hose team to post a winning record was the 1980 edition which established a 6-3-1 mark, al though! the 1964 Presbyterians broke even at 8-5. Coach Cally Gault has an nounced the PC players are in top shape physically for this bat tle. but it will take an above- average team performance to upend the strong Catamounts. Western Carolina sports a 6-2 record, and will close out the sea son with the Blue Hose. All con ference Quarterback Jim Wil liams puts fire in the WCC of fense with deadly passes, and the Catamount defense against opponents’ rushing attempts is ranked number-five nationally by NAIA. Presbyterian has a clean slate in battle with the North Carolina school, winning all four of the meetings during the years 1960- 53. Heading the Hose assault this weekend will be Quarterback Bill Kirtland (Miami, Fla.), who al ready passed for 688 yards and nine touchdowns. He has com pleted 48 of 98 attempts. Fullback Sam Williams (Mon roeville, Ala.) is the top ground- gainer with 438 yards on 104 car ries for a 4.2 average, but Half back Wade Stewart (Picayune, Miss.) is rapidly catching up.
