BOGAN CorrsaynoS—t Baprawtetlea Mr. and Mrs. Larry Petit of Canton Conn,, are visiting sev eral weeks with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Gus Cannon, and Mr. Cannon near Joanna. Also, her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hogan Fuller in Clin ton, other friends and relatives. The former’s father, Harry Pettit, accompanied them on the trip. Saturday visitors in Atlanta, Qa., were Rev. and Mrs. Don Fowler and Miss Gaye Craven. Rev. Fowler enjoyed the Geor gia Tech-Clemson football game while there. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Grogan and Kathy Summers Joined Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Summers and family at the home of L. H. Summers at Bonds Cross Roads for a family dinner. It^ras held especially for Kathy who observ ed a birthday September 29. A recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Poag was Mrs. Bill Poag of Greensboro, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. J. Clifton Lollis attended the funeral of the lat ter’s brother-in-law, J. T. Ban nister, in Belton on Tuesday. On Saturday they returned to Belton to visit her mother, Mrs. Beulah Davis, and Mrs. Bannister. Mrs. Mary Morris of San An tonio, Texas, will return home this week-end after spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Bill Gresham, Dale and Cliff. Mr. and Mrs. Colie Oswalt visited the latter’s sister, Mrs. Ruth Todd, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood on Satur day. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Franzen were Mr. and Mrs. Lucius Hill and chil dren of Spartanburg, and spend ing the week-end with them were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carl Fran zen and family of Kinston, N. C. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Smith were Mr. and Mrs. Fay Smith of Blacksburg. Mr, and Mrs. H. B. Dean of Philadelphia, Pa., were guests the past week of Mrs. Floyd Pitts and Baade. VISIT IN WEST Mr. and Mrs. Earl Arthur re turned mi Friday evening after spending a two weeks vacation with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neil Beasley, in Canadian, Texas, and their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Arthur, in SL Louis. Mo. They vain. ard Cash, in Cowpens. Mrs. Barbara Glenn attended the class agents’ meeting at Winthrop College In Rock Hill on Saturday. Mrs. J. E. Boyce accompanied her and visited Mr. and Mrs. Guy Misenhelmer and son In Chester. HOME FROM HOSPITAL Friends will be interested to know R. G. Carr returned home from the Veterans hospital in Columbia on Saturday. CLUB MEETS THURSDAY The Woman's Club will meet Thursday (tonight) at 7 o’clock at the club house in Joanna. All members are urged to attend as an important business meet ing is scheduled. PRESBYTERIAN WOC NEWS Hie Women of the Church will meet Monday, October 11, at 7:20 with Mrs. James Dominick. The morning circle will also meet with Mrs. Dominick on Wednesday, October 13, at 10:00 a. m. New officers for the year are: Mrs. T. C. Holcomb, presi dent; Mrs. J. D. Fowler, vice- president; Alrl. BIRTHDAY PARTY GIVEN On Saturday evening at her home on Browning Ave., Mrs. Bob Thomas honored her daugh ter, Jill, with a birthday party. She was 12 years old on Septem ber 29. CHURCH HOMECOMING Epworth Methodist Church will obscreve its Fifteenth Homecom ing Sunday, October 10 with the program beginning with the Sun day School hour at 9:59. The morning worship services will be gin at 11 a.m. with a former pastor, the Rtv. Mr. W. 8. Pet- tus of Fort Mill bringing, the morning message. Lunch will be served at one o’clock. Members and former members are asked tobring a well-filled picnic basket.
