Luncheon
Two June brides-elect, Bliss
Julie Bolick, who will marry
George Richard Buford, and
Miss Nancy Neighbors, who will
wed Wayne Morgan, were en
tertained last Saturday at
a luncheon given at Mrs. Cecil
Wilson’s home by Mrs. John
Adi son, Mrs. Tom Addison and
Mrs. Robert Hamer.
The bride’s places were mark
ed at the dining table with cor
sages of white carnations and a
gift for each. The table was
covered with a white organdy
cloth over green, and centered
with an arrangement of mixed
spring flowers.
In the living room, other
guests were seated at linen-cov
ered card tables and their, places
were marked with place cards
decorated with chrysanthemums
and lace.
Out-of-town guests at the
luncheon were Mrs. Frank Shu.

a paper on the subject of

Christian Service. Closing the
service with a prayer was Mrs.
J. B. Speake.

a bridal luncheon complimenting
bride-elect, Miss Marcia Weer
sing. The ocasion was held at
the Piedmont Club in Spartan
burg on Wednesday, April 21, at
noon.
College friends from Converse
College were among guests.
Lilies of the valley and violets
made the setting for the three-
course luncheon. Dainty place
cards marked each guests’ place
and a corsage marked the bride-
elect’s place.

Has Bridge Club
Mrs. J. B. Templeton was
hostess to her bridge club last
Thursday afternoon at her
home on West Walnut Street.
Arrangements of pansies and
roses were used for the oc
casion, with two tables in play.
A dessert course was served,
and Mrs. Charles Waldron was
winner of high score prize.
Mrs. Joe 8. Maupin, a mem
ber who win be leaving the city
in June, was remembered with
a gift from the club.

Moncks Comer Saturday at
5:00 p. m. at the Mountville
Presbyterian Church.
She is the daughter of Mrs.
Blaise Pascal Watts, who enter
tained with a reception at her
home, and the late Mr. Watts.
She is a graduate of Clinton
High School and the nursing
school of Self Memorial Hos
pital and Lander College in
Greenwood.
Mr. Orvin is a graduate of
Berkeley High School in
Moncks Corner and Presbyte
rian College in Clinton. His
social fraternity is Alpha Sig
ma Phi.
Miss Julia Watts was her sis
ter’s maid of honor and St.
Clair Orvin of Moncks Corner
was his son’s best man. Rev.
W. F. Mitchell of Liberty
Springs Presbyterian Church in
Cross Hill officiated.
Mrs. W. M. Ferguson of Fair-
forest presented organ music;
she is the bride’s aunt. The
bride was given in marriage by
her brother, Robert Pascal
Watts.
Her attendants included the
groom’s sister, Miss Jenifer Or
vin of Moncks Corner, and Mrs.
Bradley Jones of Fountain Inn.
Junior bridesmaids were Miss
Gladys Jean Shealy of Leesville
and Miss Sharon Stewart. „

Jacksonville, Fla., Richard Nei-
derhauf of Bonneau, and Clair
Orvin of Moncks Comer.
Silk organza over taffeta was
used for the bride’s dress, de
signed with portrait neckline,
dome skirt, alencon lace ap
plique on the bodice and a de
tachable chapel train ending in
three large scallops.
Her pearl crown held a bouf
fant, elbow-length veil. She car
ried a cascade of roses.
Her maid of honor wore a
deep yellow taffeta dress with
Empire waistline, round neck
line and cap sleeves. Pale yel
low was inserted at the waist
line, extending in a bow and
streamers in the back.
Other attendants’ dresses
were designed like hers with
the colors reversed.
For travel to Florida Mrs.
Orvin changed to a dusty rose
silk suit. Mr. Orvin is the son
of Mrs. Gladys T. Orvin of
Moncks Comer.
Ladies' Golf
Association
To Meet
The Ladise’ Golf Association
of Lakeside Country Club will
meet Tuesday, May 18, at the
club house. Members wishing to
make luncheon reservations are
asked to telephone Mrs. C. W.
Copeland.
Earl Tinsley, golf pro at
Lakeside, will conduct a golf
clinic for ladies May 18-20 at
9 a. m. Participants in the la
dies’ golf tournament, now in
progress, have been requested
to play three rounds by May 18,
Mr. Tinsley said. Awards will
be made at the meeting on that
date.

in her chosen pattern.

Affiliate 14 of the South Caro
lina Registered Cosmetologists
held a hair fashion forum at the
E-Z Living Center Tuesday,
April 20, with Mrs. Barbara
Roberts of Columbia as guest
artist.
Mrs. Roberts was introduced
by Mrs. Dell Crews of Clinton.*
Mrs. Clara Cromer introduced
all state and local officers at
tending.
Mrs. Roberts told the cosme
tologists that clothes, hats, and
hair styles all must go together
to make a well-dressed lady.
She also stated that the
“Breeze-Cut” with the “Swing-
N-to-Spring” hair style is the
newest and easiest to care for
hair style.
Mrs. Roberts selected Mrs.
Dell Crews of Clinton as a mod
el to shape and style.
After lunch a workshop with
all cosmetologists participating
was held under the supervision
of Mrs. Roberts.
