The Rev. J. A. McIntyre, pas tor of the Friendship Church in Laurens County ahd.Dr. E. G. Boyce, Chaplian of Erskine Col lege are the ministers who will represent S. C. Presbytery- Rul ing Elder Howell Cockfield from the Upper Long Cane Church in Abbeville County and Ruling El der Stuart Land from the Abbe ville Presbyterian Church will serve as Commissioners also. Rev. W. T. Mitchell, pastor of the Liberty Spring Church at Cross Hill and Executive Secre tary of S. C. Presbytery expects to attend the meeting of the General Assembly as an observ er. The Assembly will be con vened on Wednesday by Dr. F. B. Gear, moderator, and the meeting is expected to adjourn on Monday, April 26. Mrs. H. M. Turner was a guest of Mrs. George Blake in Greenwood on Easter Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Pinson had as their guests during the Easter holidays Mr. and Mrs. E. C. COMMUNITY NEWS The Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the community children sponsored by the Bailey Foun dation was held Saturday at the ,Mill Ball Park. Truman Owens presented prizes to Ann Metis, Susan Major, Ricky Ginn, and Sam Lambert for finding the most eggs. Helping to hide the eggs were Donald McGinis, Howard Roach, Mrs. Ella Har vey, Mrs. M. W. Adams, Mrs. William Metts, and Mrs. Tom O’Shields. BLUE BIRDS’ EGG HUNT Blue Bird groups combined to gether with their leaders Mr. J. D. Hanley and Mrs. M. Adams enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt at the Pine Heaven Park last Tues day. The prize winners were Janice Metts, Lynn Wilbanks, and Debbie Nelson. Refreshments of hot dogs and cold drinks were served after the hunt. The Church of God Phophecy located on Sloan St. will have an all-day program Sunday. Rev. L. L. Powell invites 'the public to attend the picnic dinner on the grounds. The highlight of the program will be the burning of the mortgage on the church. Special singing will be presented in the afternoon. Rev. and Mrs. John Martin and Terry, and Rev. Ronald Ballenger were dinner guests of Mrs. A. J. Satterfield on Tues day. WITH THE SICK Janice Campbell is home from Bailey Memorial Hospital, where she underwent a tonsillectomy. Jimmy Campbell, Mrs. Robert Whitsel, and Susan Heaton all have the flu. Kathy Garrett is able to be up after having foot injarise. Mrs. Colie Campbell is con fined to bed with a virus. Mrs, Woodrow Wilson la a patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Miss Effie Lou Godfrey re turned home on Friday after a week’s visit with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Godfrey, in Greenville. On Sunday, she and Mrs. J. M. Hatton were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Hatton In Clinton. In the afternoon they motored to Lake Greenwood to visit Mr. and Mrs. James God frey at their cottage, and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Godfrey who were spending the week-end with them. Mrs. Clara Childs and chil dren of Anderson, spent the Easter holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mr. Andy Gosnell. Mr. Childs joined them for the week end. Other week-end guests were Mrs. Billy Gilreath and children of Charleston and Herbert Ful ler of Greenville. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mil- ton and Mts. Ralph Milton of Spartanburg. * Mrs. Floyd Pitts, Mrs. Hubert Lindsay and Mrs. J. M. Hatton were Thursday visitors in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Glenn of Columbia, Mrs. Guy Misenheim- er and Mel of Rock Hill, and Miss Elaine Boyce spent the Easter Holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Boyce. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Brannon, Donna and Keith visited Rev. and Mrs. Claude Thompson in Saluda on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Beckom and Mike of Greenwood, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Beckom. Bubba Barron was home for the spring holidays. He is a student at the University of Vir ginia, Charlottesville. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Barron were Sunday guests of his moth er in Fort Lawn. Mrs. L. D. Edmonds, Buena and Dora were last week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stokes Martin in Waterloo. Joining them on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Edwards of Joanna, Miss Judy Hall of Laurens, Da vid Pace and Mrs. Leroy Pace and children of Mountvillle, Rev. and Mrs. Clee Blackwell of Gray, Maine, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ballew of Clinton. Sunday afternoon guests of W. K. Waits and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nabors were Mr. and Mrs. Milton Waits and daughter, Linda, and Tommy Crowe of Belton. RECEIVES DISCHARGE Jack Holcombe received a dis charge from the Air Force at McGuire AFB, N. J., on April 3. His last year of service was spent in Greenland. Mrs. Hol combe and daughter, Cindy of Nashville, Tenn., accompanied him for a week’s visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Hol combe. On Sunday they left for Orlando, Fla., where they are making their home. BIRTHDAYS AND WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES Today’s birthdays include Ir. by Ginn and Othello Gosnell. On April 23 Fredna Smith and Eula Mae Riser will observe birthdays. Celebrating birthdays on April 24th are Nell Bozard, Margie Young, Angela Rowe and Pete Schumpert. Mr. and Mrs. Thom as Summers and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson, Sr., will ob serve wedding anniversaries. April 2Sth birthdays include Frances Pentuff, Bobbie Hooper and Dwight Tncker. On April 27th Tommy Fuller will have a birthday. Tuesday, April 28th, Vickie Brown, Juanita Wise and G. V. Sellers will celebrate birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bodie will have a wedding anniversary.
